According to Delldays, Fonte is fit. Excellent news, even if he doesn't go straight into the team !

TDD is correct, he is fit.

I have no idea if he's over his injury though.

I'd like to comment on the 13 wins he's predicted for qpr this season!

http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2012-13.html

Not too far off on us. Look at Swansea and QPR... Clueless.

he's tipped us to lose every game since ponch took over.

It's actually the recent form table which is the most telling - he's predicted 23 points from us when we have 27 but has only predicted one result correctly (ergo 1 point) in eleven games. He thinks we'll struggle, let's keep proving him wrong.

Don't worry, I'm still alive.

Every forum needs an MLG.

Don't know if anyone else just saw, but on the Fantasy Football show Mikel Arteta had to name his all-time XI of players he has played with.

He had Pochettino at CB and as his captain.

He said a few words on him:

"You could always see he was going to be a manager."

"What he doesn't know about football isn't worth knowing."

"He's like a chess player, always four moves ahead of you."

Beasry's mate over there (Ant McFarland or something) was just saying we are a glorified championship team, then Dec chipped in by saying that people on this forum were a bunch of arrogant *****s. I mean we have only had a couple of mod posts and one from MLG, how can they tell so early? It is weird communicating with Geordies, usually due to their speech impediments it is impossible to understand them but through the power of the internet and modern technology we are making contact.

Hi Geordies! how are you? Hand over Cheryl Cole and give back Shearer and we'll call it quits and forgive you for all the Raul Mote and Jimmy Nail crocodile shoes stuff, deal?

Apparently they are having a 'French day' all Red, White and Blue.... all 'Le Toon' My father In-law is a Geordie and Toon fan - and he sent me nice copy of tehir club mail describing all the fun to be had...

We in yellow or red?

How embarassing. It's the sort of thing our fans would do. I can just imagine all the fat Geordies wearing berets, with onions round their neck sticking of garlic and waving French sticks in the air over their stained replica shirts.

Only guessing of course, but the Marchwood bypass was closed yesterday due to a R.T.A. and got diverted past Staplewood, this was around 12.30pm and saw players leaving with Fonte at the front, so maybe he is fit again, he was closely followed by Jack Cork, guess they fly up to Newcastle today.

Some cracking lasses up there, if only they'd keep their mouths shut...

suspect so but this snow fall may have taken them by surprise? 7 inches here in 2.5 hours and still coming down strong

Is it affecting travel in and out? Supposed to be driving up tomorrow morning, not sure whether to risk it now...

Newcastle Airport operating OK. Just checked and flight from Southampton landed at 10.54.

You'll be fine driving up tomorrow morning

im 3 miles from city centre / ground and roads are covered. will update later as snow has slowed now

Looking at today's fixtures, we could well come into tomorrow's game with the chance of reaching 11th.

Norwich v Everton

Wba v Sunderland

Fulham v stoke

Whu v spurs (Monday)

On the other hand reading could be a point behind us or with a draw or Wigan win we are only 3 points clear.

My point is Sunday is a huge game for both us and Newcastle. If we can get a win and take that into the Qpr game next week we will be in a great position.

Plus we could well drag the rest of the bottom half into the scrap.

Posted

Difficult to call. Will we maintain our momentum? Geordies did well in Europa Thursday and could be confident and boyed up to overtake us in the league. I reckon there will be a couple of goals for each side.

I'll be happy with a draw right now, though that won't be in MP's thinking. An exciting game in atrocious weather methinks.

Posted

I think we'll draw, which provided we beat QPR next week, would be a good result.

1-1, Jos to get off the mark for the season.

Posted

I predicted we'd lose to Man City, draw at Newcastle and win against QPR.

We beat Man City, so I'll take a draw at Newcastle if it means we will beat QPR! Do think we've got an excellent chance of going up there and getting 3 points though.

Why do you post about the affairs of a ream you don't support? It's always strange to see a poster commenting 'you' about us.

Do you not find it a bit more interesting having an outsiders view too? I live in the city and go along to games when .i can and have for the last 3 years. It helps stimulate a bit more debate you utter mong.

who do you support

Im a united fan and post on their forum too but ive been really impressed with the setup and ambition at southampton. If you look on the united forum almost all the good things said about the saints comes from me. Couldnt speak more highly of your team

That Newcastle forum is funny.

I love it when opposition fans underestimate us, makes it fun to read how they were having their worst game in ages afterwards.

I like these student wars, it's like skins. Strange that a torquay united fan would post on here but we have had tarten owl, flyer, milts and Bearsy, they all support other teams. I like getting other fans views but they always disappear when we beat their team. You sticking around student? Even if we smash untied in the cup?

Krul is out?!?!

BEST NEW EVER!!

Harper couldn't save a word document (and I thought was released last season for being that poor on loan at Brighton), Elliot is supposed to be alright (well was good for cafc) but not having Krul is the best news!

Looks like Ben Arfa isn't going to be risked yet either.

Considering the fact they played Thursday, have some of their best players out, we're above them in the league, we're coming of the back of some of the best form we've had all season, that form coming against top teams, aaaand we've had a two week break for Tino to get his style across to us more and improve fitness, not to mention we humiliated them at our place, and I can see where their fans' confidence that they'll beat us comes from.

I for one do - keep it up! Good of you to make the effort - I keep an eye out for 2 or 3 other teams for various reasons (lived there, relatives associated with club etc. etc.), but can't muster the effort to even view their site let alone post!

YESSS!

That'll do very nicely to disrupt their team and hopefully ensure Pards feels so limited he has to try out 4-3-3 again with 3 very central (and confused) strikers...

There's a bit of confidence coming from the way we've played since Sissoko and Gouffran arrived (yes I'm a Mag). Personally speaking I can't understand how either group of fans can be too confident about this game.

We (NUFC) won't be playing 3 central strikers. I'd guess Cisse centrally, with Gouffran and Gutierrez playing off him (though everyone I know would put Marveaux in for Guti)

Someone living in Southampton that supports united. I've heard the views of many if these, tend to be nice until their team beats you and all of a sudden saints are poor. The only view of a united fan that remotely mattered was that of fergie saying we were the best team to play there this year. By the way Ryan giggs has been a very good player for a long time, thought that view would interest.

I'm pretty happy that your lot did a job on Qpr today, you're good for that.
