saintbob40 Posted 21 February, 2013 Share Posted 21 February, 2013 Strong side. Mr. P must think his black and white marauders can bring their carpet slippers and a pipe on Sunday, read the Sunday papers and still win the game. I feel that he may well be in for a shock. He is seriously underestimating Sir Alex Fergurson's favourite team and deserves to get his bottom spanked. Hopefully it goes to extra time with penalties and it is an incredibly physical game....and there is a plane delay, perhaps with a re-routing landing in Hawaii first on the way back -too much to ask.....? adrian lord Posted 21 February, 2013 Share Posted 21 February, 2013 Decent squad - imagine a few of the better players might be on the bench. Can't really see anyone missing apart from their cup tied players and Ben Arfa who might be back vs us. Also its "French Day" on Sunday apparantly: http://www.shieldsgazette.com/news/local-news/newcastle-make-southampton-clash-french-day-1-5428949 Lets Hope the French throw in the towel as easily as they did twice last century. Need to get at them from the off on Sunday and I'm sure we will. COYS First half has been fairly even from what I've seen. Newcastle pretty much playing counter attack and look quite dangerous going forwards. Let's hope there are no goals in the second half either! Or, if Metalist score first then Pardew will surely be forced to leave his best players on and bring on anyone being rested.

labibs Posted 21 February, 2013 Share Posted 21 February, 2013 Came on here to post the same news about Krul. Never want any footballer to get injured, but if he and Cabaye were both out (and realise this is speculative at this stage), we would have an excellent chance on Sunday! Tokyo-Saint Posted 22 February, 2013 Share Posted 22 February, 2013 Bog washing Bearsy. So many mistakes on the forum since poor old MLG left, this place is chaos. Clarke - Bearsy is the one they are quoting from this forum - all the others (the ones talking about Newcatle), well the are Geordies and they support Newcastle. It is not clear who Bearsy supports yet but my money is on Villa.
Wilf Posted 22 February, 2013 Share Posted 22 February, 2013 Thought I'd better warn any of you going to Newcastle........:-) "Sunday Is French Day - Make Sure You Get Involved! St. James' Park is set to have a little more joie de vivre on display than usual this Sunday after Newcastle United's home fixture with Southampton was designated 'French Day'. In homage to our growing Gallic contingent, which now stands at ten players following five new arrivals from across the Channel in January, 'Le Toon' fans are invited to dress up, paint their faces and bring along their Tricolore banners early to immerse themselves in a French-inspired theme across the stadium. There will also be chance for a sing-along before kick-off as singer Gavin James Burke arrives on Tyneside to join in the festivities, with further themed entertainment on the pitch at half-time. Ticket holders in the family enclosure, meanwhile, will be in the spirit of things with a team of dedicated face painters. And the pièce de résistance is yet to be revealed, with several other surprises awaiting fans at Sunday's game. Events and entertainment will be taking place from 1pm on Sunday and fans are advised to arrive early to ensure they don’t miss any of the action"

SuperMikey Posted 22 February, 2013 Share Posted 22 February, 2013 Bearsy, I think you should do a bit of espionage for us. What is this gtomlinson's motive for comparing us to Barca? Does he want to be friends with us? Does he want to pave the way for Morgan Schneiderlin to join them by creating a good relationship between the clubs? Or is he just mentally ill? Your mission is to uncover the facts here. God speed.
