Elias Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 Anyone know what allocation we've been given for tickets? I don't think the club has publicised the figure. It'll be at least 1800 and up to around 3000. Don't think we'll take 1800 so it is probably the smaller allocation. All I know is I'm going and I'll be hungover as **** at the game.

JoeShmoe Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 I'll be there, home end though, with my lad
Danbert Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 The result will also be a draw, win or loss. Wish I was that clever to work that out :-) Not if the game's postponed.
FloatingbridgeSaint Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 Was reading today that 2 of the new signings will not be playing in the EL game & that the opponents are on a mid season break so AP may well field a weaker side to begin with & leave the backup on the bench if required.
Saint Garrett Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 Hopefully they'll be losing or drawing when they go to Ukraine next week.

Strong side, Gouffran and Debuchy can't play because they've already played in europe for Lille and Bordeaux

Such quality from such a young age by MLT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=TpwOgxd5jSo OMG memories! I was at that match. I remember the scoreboard broke on 1-0 and it was 3-3 by the time they fixed it. They bombared us at the end and even at 3-1 we knew what was coming next...
Olallana Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 So they have to play their best team (except some of the new boys that isn´t allowed in Europa League) away on thursday......must be good for us.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 14 February, 2013 Posted 14 February, 2013 (edited) We used to play in blue FFS? I had that blue kit, didn't want it but was a present. The yellow one was much better, both had a kind of flame pattern, very 80's. edit - not really that looks to be a different blue kit but i'll leave this as MLG bait. the saint in winchester Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 So they got a 0-0 draw and will need to step it up for the 2nd leg. Hopefully they will put out a strong side and be a lttle jaded when our game comes.
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Yep all to play for in Ukraine. Another 0-0 and extra time please!
Pilchards Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 So let's get this right, Newcastle have to fly back on Friday from Ukraine and will have one day to prepare for our game on Sunday? With our high temp football will they hold us for 90 minutes, doubt it so we should win this one?

You would think that they will play a strong team in Ukraine too.

I'd say so. MP is probably plotting the "Tire them out early, win the game late" strategy as we speak. It will be interesting to see whether Cabaye and Tiote can compete with our midfield without picking up their customary yellows (which take an edge off their game) or reds (which take them out of it altogether). I've seldom felt more confident about getting a good result up there, but my optimism often goes before a fall.
Saint Garrett Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Not convinced they will play a full strength team....although hope they do. Prem survival means more to them than Europa league.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 I think they think that with their new signings, they will easily stay up.... and we know Pardew likes a cup, another one for his CV.
RobM Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Not convinced they will play a full strength team....although hope they do. Prem survival means more to them than Europa league. Genuine question... Is their squad deep enough to allow them to leave out some of their better and more regular players? I thought they were quite limited, in attacking options especially.

I thought they were quite limited, in attacking options especially. Well. It wasn't big enough but they had added 4 pretty good additions
Thedelldays Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 It's not on TV Isn't it the league cup final after?
Saint Garrett Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 It's on Sunday because they're playing on the Thursday. It was never meant to be on TV.
Webby Posted 15 February, 2013 Posted 15 February, 2013 Is this on TV? If not. why is it 1.30? It's not on TV Isn't it the league cup final after? It's on Sunday because they're playing on the Thursday. It was never meant to be on TV. Just what I was going to ask. Cheers
Appy Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Playing on Sunday because of the Europa League. 1:30 so it doesn't clash with the Capital One Cup Final.
Lets B Avenue Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Playing on Sunday because of the Europa League. 1:30 so it doesn't clash with the Capital One Cup Final. I thought it was to let me get home by my bedtime?
Saint Garrett Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Ergh another week....I hate when we're not playing!!!!
Elias Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Sold out our allocation! Probably only the smaller allocation but it's still a good effort. Going to be a cracking weekend.
Sour Mash Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Sold out our allocation! Where you hear that from?
Elias Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Where you hear that from? It's listed as sold out on the Saints tickets website.
Restark19 Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 well up for this one. SJP has always been a ground i've wanted to go to, think we've got a good chance of a decent result too!
Sour Mash Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 It's listed as sold out on the Saints tickets website. Right, be good if the club could keep us updated on additional allocations etc.

Elias Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 Right, be good if the club could keep us updated on additional allocations etc. I hope we can get extra, got to be a decent chance we could shift another few hundred. I think that it's unlikely we'll get extra though.
Katalinic Posted 16 February, 2013 Posted 16 February, 2013 It's a decent ground, but away end right up in the Gods, miles from the pitch. Endless flights of steps up to the away end - they average a couple of heart attacks a season from away fans apparently.
Frank's cousin Posted 17 February, 2013 Posted 17 February, 2013 It's listed as sold out on the Saints tickets website. Odd I manged to get a couple no probs on Friday afternoon - only 145 miles from my house ;-)

PhilippineSaint Posted 18 February, 2013 Posted 18 February, 2013 This is now on Star sports in the Philippines
silversaint Posted 18 February, 2013 Posted 18 February, 2013 I'm aware this is a long shot but I'm looking for 2 tickets for the game on Sunday, don't want to sit in with the mags. If anyone knows of a pair going spare please let me know. Cheers.
dellboypete Posted 18 February, 2013 Posted 18 February, 2013 Impressed if sold out. Sadly in semi-hospitality as our best friends are from Newcastle (wilds of Northumbria actually) and they insisted on treating us to the "best seats". Fortunately managed to get a iticket for my daughter but honestly didn't think it would sell out.
dellboypete Posted 18 February, 2013 Posted 18 February, 2013 This is now on Star sports in the Philippines any spare seats around the pool pete?
PhilippineSaint Posted 18 February, 2013 Posted 18 February, 2013 any spare seats around the pool pete? Could be a couple with San Miguel cold from the fridge if any wants picking up at Manila airport

Yep, I'd go with something similar (+1 on bench to make 7). That's a premier league quality bench....first time this season we can say that probably

trousers Posted 19 February, 2013 Posted 19 February, 2013 @GraemeBailey: Alan Pardew has confirmed that Hatem Ben Arfa is back in full training after more than two months on the sidelines. http://t.co/gnnxvGwA
