Aston Villa - West Ham

We're only 4 points behind them, with a similar goal difference and still got to play them at home. I would say we are definitely competing with them, especially given our recent performances.

Correction - make that 3 points behind with an identical GD.

We're coming for yooooouuuuuu!

West Ham are very poor. They are fortunate they had a good start. I assume they will stay up but next season they will struggle unless they change big time

Going to have to bring in some quality if they're to stay up next year. They have a few players on short term deals. Carroll, Chamakh, Pogatetz, Cole. Allardyce contract up this summer as well. Will certainly be a summer of change for them whther they stay up or not.

How does fat Sam gets away with saying that his sides are infairly labelled as being long ball merchants? That description is absolutely spot on. They do nothing but smash it long. They simply aren't good enough to pass it. ****ing terrible side. If I wanted to watch long ball I'd watch siunday league for free. I know they tonked us at their place, but bloody hell did they get the rub of the green that day. Really hope we beat them and their ugly sister Stoke in the run in.

Echo all that's been said on here about West Ham. Not just hindsight, but I've said all along we will finish above them. There is always one team that goes into freefall from mid-table and it looks like them.

They are one-dimensional, which is typical of Allardyce. They won games earlier in the season by physically bullying teams but the opposition have wise up how to play against them, and Fat Sam does not have a Plan B, unless it is to throw Carlton Cole up front to play alongside Carroll.

Judging by the reactions of some of their players today, it wouldn't take much for them to go into meltdown. You just get the feeling it is an uhappy camp both on abd off the pitch.

The fans who tolerated BFS while they were winning will turn on him as not playing The West Ham Way. Inside the camp, BFS clearly has his favourites like Nolan, Jaaskelainen, Taylor and other former Bolton accolytes and those players who perceive they are being frozen out by favourtism will spread disaffection.

I think it's looking really encouraging.

I think this is a good result.

I am very keen to see Reading relegate as it will send fringe supporters in northern Hants back our way, important if we're going to build a bigger stadium.

Still 4 points between us, but even more important it means that we're only one win from mid-table now! Oh how Newcastle away becomes suddenly more important, I'd love to finish above West Ham after all the preseason rubbish about hoe they were better equipped to stay in the Premier League.

I think this is a good result... we're less concerned over relegation now and more concerned over a mid-table finish IMHO. Confidence is high.

Interestingly not only WHU but Fulham, Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle all on a poor run and looking vunerable. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those in the bottom three come May.

It's still a shame to have started the day 6 points clear of relegation and finish only 4, but at least that drags Reading back into the mire. Wigan, all of a sudden, are looking really vulnerable. QPR are down IMO. West Ham could drop like a stone, and perhaps are the mid-table side most likely to do so. I can see Norwich's team spirit keeping them clear of trouble, and Fulham's little bit of quality too. Newcastle likewise will have no problems now. For us? Hopefully mid-table, but yesterday's win aside, we can't rule out relegation ourselves just yet. Beating Newcastle would calm my fears a LOT.
