a quick word to Rickie, then. NO BURGERS and NO BEER ..and we might get another good season out of him then, or at least give him a chance to travel to Rio.

I have my superstitious moments, and I just want him to keep doing whatever the hell he's doing now, at the same time, and in the same sequence.

And if the odd burger and beer are part of his regimen, I hope he keeps doing it. ;)

But, seriously, is it my imagination or is he lasting much better - despite the extra effort that Pochettino's style requires?

Stoke

Arsenal

Villa

Chelsea

Reoccurring theme here....

Yep, but I think against Villa and Chelsea we WERE lucky to get away with those points.

Chelsea could have killed us off in the 1st half and we only had two shots at goal in that game. You could claim that Man U could killed us off too, but the stats from that game was 21-11 to us in shots.

Against Villa we were lucky their players cant shoot properly cause in my view that was our luckiest win this year of you look at the team performance.

You have to have some luck. We have also had a lot of decisions go against us and we've not won games we deserved to.

I thought you were getting at the point that fans say 'that's the worst we've played since....'

No, my initial post were more of how the media has referred to the games....

How about the start of the season

We outplayed city and lost

we outplayed united and lost

I think there is enough balance

We really did not outplay City in the first game. We counterattacked well against them and were fun to watch, but we never outplayed them.

It was 20-9 in shots and 64-36 in possession favouring City in that game...

Man U at home were 18-15 in shots and 56-44 in possession favouring them. I agree we did a hell of a game then, but we didn´t outplay them either.

Good point, maybe if we keep on with these "lucky" performances people will start to think there might be a connection - strange the opposition always have their off day when they're playing Saints, why could that be?

We're starting to get some recognition though - SAF and the MOTD boys seem to think its not just the opposition's off days

No it wasn't you tool.

City and united did not have more shots on goal than us.

Youve plucked them figures from your deluded brain.

We are the new boys in the division having come from 2 leagues below in only 2 years. We have to earn Premier respect.

Despite the reports from Managers saying it was the worse their teams have played they all gave credit to our outstanding play.

We are no longer being mentioned as relegation fodder. Respect is coming and we are playing the right way.

Are teams playing badly against us? Of course City did underperform yesterday but I think the way we are playing makes teams look like they're playing worse than they actually are because we simply don't let them play their 'normal' game. If you constantly pressurise opponents for 90 minutes you are going to unsettle them technically, tactically and psychologically. Teams think they can come and play their own way against us at the moment rather than adapting their system. I think the real challenges might come next season when some of the lesser teams give us more respect and may even sit back with 10 men behind the ball and hit us on the counter atack (as was the way for City's only goal yesterday). The big boys could have a problem dealing with us for some time - just look at Barcelona to see that high pressure even unsettles them. Based on current performances, and with a bit of strengthening in the summer, I find it difficult to conceive us finishing lower than 7th next season. The future's bright.
