I think he understands and speak English well enough. Sensible to use a translator as any miscommunication will be swarmed on by the media in a negative way after NAs sacking.

The best example would be the pre-match conference thursday when he suddenly speaks english without even noticing it himself for a few seconds...

As one of the ex-professional commentators on my stream commented, in his experience they always speak a lot more than they let on.

He's not daft enough to let himself open to those "awkward " media questions before he feels ready ..he needs to get " Saints Fit " .

I think it is clear that he understands English, but as yet is uncomfortable conversing to the media. Fair enough. Would be the worst place to make a mistake, they would be all over it like a tramp on discarded chips!

when Fox had to go off he gave the change around instructions to Morgan in French,told him to drop off to the left to bolster any weakness Clyne might find on that side. Seemed to speak to Richardson as well though.

All seriousness, I am sure he knows a few languages, and will pick up English easy. Some people can. I am not one of these people. Find English hard enough, and it is my mother tongue

5 yards away from a pretty big flat screen with a replay facility. Not a great lip reader but I've got sort of basic skills in that area.

Worked with a deaf and dumb bloke for a few years. Took a good look at the incident after the game.
