You even admit that he was ok last night.. He was a replacement for the injured Shaw and did not let us down.. Maybe it is personal with you or Mr Fox has upset you somehow. He is still a Saints player and the Manager choooooses him as a replacement/sub....Live wsith it FFS Targett is coming along nicely..Clyne can play there and so can Forren.. StDunko Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 I'm baffled as to why Fox always seems to position himself 15 yards in from the touchline, leaving us so exposed to overlaps. Just compare his positioning to Shaw or Clyne.
Seaford Saint Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 No he done ok yesterday. Still stood out to me as being our weakest player tho. Never let a fantastic display get in the way of an opinion like this!'! How about you run along and provide us all with brief summation of the cost of the Man City forwards and midfielders, the wages they are paid. I'll help you by saying that we bought Fox for a couple of million from Burnley and he is probably on £20k a week. Last years league champions only scored one goal yesterday. You make it sound like they overran him.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 Have I missed the Danny fox thread? Still Totally out of his depth Can't defend Positional play shocking And well so some say he's good going forward and he takes a mean dead ball!? I admit I was wrong with boruc, but fox is just not good enough at all. He won't be around much longer Fox shlt Wow, eloquently written points there. Played well yesterday, his dead ball is great, defended well. Got caught out with the goal but that was Davis's fault more than anyone.

So you would not want to see us look for another left back. You are all happy with Fox . It's funny. Few weeks ago everyone was preying we sign a decent full back as cover for shaw Now fox played in the team that beat a poor city and all is forgotten! I'm not taking nothing away from anyone from last nights great win! A good alround team performance. Your entitled to your opinion that you think fox is up to standard and are happy with him and also comfortable with him being cover for shaw. And I'm entitled to my opinion that I think he is no way up to standard in this league and would like to see another left back at the club who has more ability and positional play than Danny fox. From where I sat ..we went for a set piece play at the corner that nearly came off... Regarding the defence at our corners....Clyne will not be best pleased that he did not deal with the attack better at the half way line...and his covering players... Not the end of the world after a slight re jig....will only get better.. Some have already contacted my mate Sam Aritan over this horrendous fluuuuck Uppp... Fan The Flames Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 Fox played well yesterday, a small mistake on the by-line near the half way line, but he tracked back to try and recover it. So far I have not noticed anyone on this thread suggest that Fox is a world beater, a premier league star or use any other superlatives ! Most think that he is an adequate replacement for Luke Shaw and played pretty well yesterday, full stop ! shurlock Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 In Fox's defense, he probably had the hardest job defending Zabaleta who's probably been City's player of the season. Btw, thought Clyne was wild at times yesterday.

TBH you have to really have it in for him to blame him for the goal, its one of those that if you had an agenda you could blame almost anyone; The corner taker Clyne for not doing better or taking a booking A CB for not doing a better job on Dzeko The left midfielder (J Rod) not following Zabeletta as lets face it, the right back isnt technically the left backs responsibility

Matthew Le Tissier Posted 10 February, 2013 Author Share Posted 10 February, 2013 (edited) There's not many I wouldn't swap for fox to be fair. I thought Dan Harding was a much better player than fox personally . Defending there's no comparison which after all is their position Going forward Harding was steady and knew to get back if he lost the ball when attacking. I hear alot about the sweet left foot of fox. Bits its no good if he kicks it in the wrong direction or over hits it orrrrr doesn't beat the first man is it. Smirking_Saint Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 Right there you have demonstrated just how little you know sir. Especially using the positional arguement, Fox is and was a miles better player than Harding, who couldnt mark properlly nor had any positional sense, he was just a hard worker and decent in the tackle. Fox pulls inside as he does not have the pace to recover when beaten and so attempts to stop crosses first snd foremost IMO (obv i dont KNOW what he is thinking)
