Tom8558 Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Me and my dad agreed that the only time it's ever been as good at St Marys was Saints v Norwich in '05. We really backed the team and it was the best performance I've seen Saints play in a long time.
red&white56 Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 It sounded great on TV as well. Glad to hear that this wasn't just because the microphones were placed in a certain part of the stadium.
Jonnyboy Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 There was a fantastic atmosphere MK Dons JPT Semi 2nd leg, whole stadium up and singing "we're going to wembley!"
Saintjersey Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 When we beat Sheffield United 3-2 to stay up that was a pretty amazing atmosphere.
Monk Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Loads of skates knocking our support on my facebook. ******s.

ollysaints1 Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 When we beat Sheffield United 3-2 to stay up that was a pretty amazing atmosphere. i got Stern John's sock during the pitch invasion.
Dan Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Without sounding negative I didn't think it sounded that great on the box.
OldNick Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Loads of skates knocking our support on my facebook. ******s.they need drums, bugles and Jerry Cottles circus to make an atmosphere so they have nothing to criticise
niceandfriendly Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Sounded fantastic on TV, must have been fun in the stadium.
BadgerBadger Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Definatley in my top 5 atmospheres at St Marys, we've had a few damp squids recently but today was what the Prem is all about putting the big boys in their place (and the fans who were equally startled rabbits)
Restark19 Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 the 2 minutes after sharp's goal v the skates was immense. then when they equalised it was the polar opposite
Saint_clark Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 What was the schneiderlin chant in the first half? Can't remember it.
suewhistle Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 The commentators referred to the Southampton choir during one particular rendition of OWTSGMI, and said it was as good in a big stadium as it had been at The Dell. It came over well on my stream, sounded like the whole ground singing...
St Chalet Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Loads of skates knocking our support on my facebook. ******s. If you will befriend fish.
Katalinic Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 We always seem up for it against the "big" sides and it drives the team on. We really need to replicate this against the Norwich's, Fulham's etc.
Elias Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Without sounding negative I didn't think it sounded that great on the box. Without sounding negative, who cares what you think you weren't there....
St Chalet Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 the 2 minutes after sharp's goal v the skates was immense. then when they equalised it was the polar opposite Bad times, remember it being like the air had been sucked out of the stadium.
Saint Garrett Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Thought it was fantastic compared to what it's been recently. Wouldnt say it was the best ever but it was up there. Helps that we were winning !!
miserableoldgit Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Who gives a fu ck what they think. Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 2 You are right. Happily PFC have become an absolute irrelevance. We are light years ahead of them.
Tractor_Saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Beat this... [video=youtube_share;I20EgWsMgBs]
Barry Sanchez Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Only listened to it on a stream but it sounded awesome.
Dig Dig Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Was good in parts but silent for a long spell before 80 mins
ant Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Loud and proud today but not quite as incredible as the OP made out! A few spells of silence and there was definitely some better days in League One and the Championship. Fantastic support overall but did highlight how lacklustre it's been for most of the rest of the season. Hopefully that's behind us and we'll carry the noise through to the final day now.
ottery st mary Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 It was awesome inside the ground.. Are you deaf...Dan ? I said are you deaf Dan?
Saint_clark Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 JPT semi-final is the best overall, the minutes between Sharps second and the equaliser in the Pompey game is the loudest I've ever heard, Camara scoring V Norwich was the loudest roar for a goal. Honestly though, those few minutes in the Pompey game...the whole ground jumping, singing, shaking the stadium...it was incredible.
Appy Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Best atmosphere this season at St Marys by a mile.
SaintBobby Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Basically, really good atmosphere. But there was a period when Northam went really, really quiet. (mins 38-45?)

JustinR Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Thought it was good for 90% of the game. Unsurprisingly, the last 10 minutes of so it went a bit quiet, when were all basically ****ting ourselves
Griffo Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 City had a weird support. Very quiet for 70 mins and then decided to start singing at the end. Not a patch on United's away support. And their Yaya/Kolo Toure song with the hand movements is sh*te.
Turkish Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 How cringeworthy was the Yaya Toure song? Up there with Hulls 'mauled by the tigers' IMO.
shurlock Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 How cringeworthy was the Yaya Toure song? Up there with Hulls 'mauled by the tigers' IMO. Gives the gay sway a run for its money for sure.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 TV microphones were picking up a few individual voices pretty well in the background, in particular one bloke who occasionally sang along tunelessly. Anyway at one point OWTSGMI was ringing out from another part of the ground, at which point one could clearly hear him say, "Listen to that... ****ing hell!"
Barry the Badger Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Well done to the players for creating an excellent atmosphere. Sure as hell isn't much to do with the fans. Sing when we are winning.
sammysaint Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 City fans claim on there bluemoon forum they out sang us all game, i sat in kingsland north and would say for about 5 mins they out sang us but rest of it, we were amazing specially on OWTSGMI, and who the f is laughing now.
Appy Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 I have a city fan mate and he said we were the quietest home fans they have heard all season.

Barry the Badger Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Bizarre posts. Not at all. The atmosphere is entirely dictated by what happens on the pitch. Beat Man City, atmosphere = amazing. Lose to Wigan, atmosphere = crap. I just find all this self congratulatory stuff a bit pathetic when the atmosphere is driven by whether we are winning or not. Yeah, well done, you sang a bit when we were beating the reigning champions. Shame you all sat on your ****ing hands when we were one nil down against Sunderland.

I'm in Kingsland central and I only heard their fans once.
dronskisaint Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Without sounding negative I didn't think it sounded that great on the box. That's strange...I thought it sounded brilliant - the ESPN feed commentators also commented on the volume and the atmosphere...compared it favourably with The Dell but I wasn't there so defer to those who were.
krissyboy31 Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 It rocked in Kingsland North all game! And I only heard the City fans a couple of times throughout the game.
Appy Posted 10 February, 2013 Posted 10 February, 2013 Bizarre posts. The joke in my post wasn't picked up I see.
