trousers Posted 9 February, 2013 Share Posted 9 February, 2013 (edited) If he brought MP in to keep us up and we go down it most certainly does mean he made the wrong decision. I disagree. Where has Cortese stated that he didn't think Adkins would keep us up so had to change manager for that reason? Cortese's decision wasn't about trying to change our odds of staying up or not (per se), it was about installing the man he wanted to take us forward in the longer term. I would suggest it was almost certainly based on keeping us up this year. You only have to listen to interviews about how we want to progress to see that. Viking Warrior Posted 9 February, 2013 Share Posted 9 February, 2013 Total saint . Some folk only hear negativity about this man and subsequently believe and cascade the unfounded negativity to the masses . A bit like the the Southampton taxi drivers freedom fighters led by Sir Richard of chorley . Why some many folk are trying to undermine the chairman . He is very much part of the liebheir dynasty . So lets get behind the man out of respect to Markus
david in sweden Posted 9 February, 2013 Share Posted 9 February, 2013 Err. I think Nigel Adkins is the Lawrie Mac in this story. Only a Lawrie Mac sacked a few months after we went up. The "stick with the manager" cliches really don't apply to us anymore. .....or anyone else it seems. Chelsea must surely be in danger of breaking our record number of managerial sackings. They've had 9... or is it 10 ?....(of the best managers available) ... in the last 9 years (?).. and Abrahamovic still isn't satisfied. In the " sackings lottery".......Cortese is just a beginner. And whilst I'll always have a lot of sympathy and gratitude for Nigel Adkins, if the club's progress and success continue in a similar vein to what we have already achieved under Cortese I frankly could not give a flying f**k. theyin Posted 10 February, 2013 Share Posted 10 February, 2013 Not a bellend just ruthless and single minded. As all great leaders are. Great leaders? hmmmm Thatcher, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot ... they were. Churchill (maybe) Roosevelt, Lincoln, JFK??? Whether they could be called ruthless or not is open to question
