IMO

he is clearly a very very good keeper...infact, he is playing his part in winning us precious points..the other two just gifted them away..

he is at the best years of his career...matured as a person and getting international recognition

he has been rated one of the best keepers in Europe in the very recent past and we have him in goal...

IMO, we should sign him up on a 2 year deal...a top keeper, who is here and who wont cost a fee.....

No need to rush, I'm sure the club will reassess in the summer, once we know what division we are in. His wages are probably pretty large considering his pedigree and probably unaffordable in the NPC.

yeah...if we stay up...but should we do, we have a top keeper already here

I agree 100%.

But I´m not sure he is interested because of the fans behaviour.....great shame unfortunately. There are still fans in the stadium that moans for the slightest misskick and dont trust him....

its weird.

gazzaniga can literally throw the ball into the net and the fans seem likt like him....

I have said many times and created a thread about it:

If the Chapel sweaties hadnt moaned at Boruc and incited that incident we would have 4 more points (the gazza gaffe's vs Swansea and Norwich).

If we go down they will be equally as much to blame as any other individual or group.

ah sorry - where you there...? Boruc was out of order. end of...

However I also think he has really come on and is the best keeper we have atm - but let's not rewrite history shall we...

He was an absolute wreck at Wham, so reckon the water bottle incident was just a convenient excuse to drop him. Had he been playing lights out, the incident would have been swept under the carpet. But agree we didn't give him long enough while the whole Gazza experiment and Nige's mantra of letting younger players make mistakes could end up costing us.

None of the goals at WH can be directly attributed to him though. He clearly just needed a run of games and the Chaps in the Chapel put paid to that.

there you are TDD ...there are some things we agree on. I seem to think that I'd seen him in several games ...a few years back ...Poland?, Celtic ?.and really rated him.

It would be interesting to look back - to when he was signed - and read some of the criticism of AB - before he's even put on a Saints shirt !

Anyway, he certainly fulfils the criteria I'd written up several times last season..namely.. that we should have TWO international keepers on the books-------many other Prem. sides have already.

Goalies, by nature are a breed apart in football and often have personal characteristics that amuse fans, and Boruc already had a reputation for such when at Celtic.

One memory of this was the 1965-6 promotion season, when Campbell Forsyth kept goal for Saints. Unlike many goalies who are used to staying on their line and being guarded by their full backs, Forsyth let fly in a rich vein of colloquial Scots vocabulary and in not so polite terms..told his defenders to get up the field..... and out of his penalty area.

I like " characters" in football.....as I hope that we have many future seasons with Artur as a dependable custodian at SFC.

I've literally never heard of Campbell Forsyths! Did you make him up? He sounds made up! I wonder if the day will come when I'm on here reminiscing bout Papa Waigo or whoever and people is like lol who? Did you make him up bear?

You say that but I don't think he was bad in either the WHU or Spurs games. He might not have been fit, but he was no worse than the others. Thankfully he has come good anyway. Gazza has huge potential though, he did have some really good moments as well.

Threw a water bottle up against the advertising hoardings...yep terrible i know:rolleyes:

he should be locked up for that kind of behaviour......

I can't help but have a nervous feeling when the ball gets near him....just seem to be a few too many fumbles and slices in his game.....still probably the best we've got, KD isn't Prem standard and Gazza is still learning his craft.....

I don't think that was the reason. I think the staff (Nigel et al.) put him on to see where he was at, and realized he was off his fitness.

It just so happened that there was that incident, but I think he was going to be dropped no matter what and get in a special plan to recover his best fitness. No matter how good you are if you haven't had a proper preparation it won't work out. He's got it and now is performing just like his pedigree indicated. Excellent since being introduced back in the side.

He's too fat, lost his form/confidence, was never that good anyway, Celtic play on a mickey mouse league, Frey at fiorentina should have displaced him, he's a liability etc etc...

;)

Will prove to be one of the best in the prem if he sticks around. He will always have the odd mad moment over a period of time but if he regains his Celtic form, wow.... We are very lucky, especially as a free transfer. Infinitely better than Schwarzer, Reina who are lauded by pundits but when they regularly screw up it gets labelled as "uncharacteristic"

What a load of ******,he is a professional footballer being paid vast amounts of money and he should have remained professional whatever stick he was getting......how does a few fans moaning justify being assaulted?....I'm not saying it was a major assault but if that bottle had hit a little kid of 4 or 5 (which there are a few of in the chapel) it could have been a lot worse.

If he cant take a bit of stick then he shouldn't be playing football.

Gonna have to get Flybe some long range planes going into Poland IF we sign him up for next year

Or get a bus link to Hurn Airport.

The Polski's love him.

Back in August meeting FMDP's family & friends it was Oh didn't Rasiak play for you?

Now they watch our every game. Gonna have to order them all a load of 2013/14 shirts when we stay up & extend his contract

I thought Boruc was "crap" and "should never play for Saints again" after his much-ado-about-nothing incident

funny how fan opinions change. From day 1 I've said he's the best keeper we have by a country mile, we should definitely sign him and Puncheon up at least for another season

Campbell Forsyth.....No I didn't make him up. It sounds like you're younger than my children !

Dec 1965. He was bought from Kilmarnock, who had won the Scottish title.(one of the rare occasions when neither Celtic or Rangers took the title), won 4 Scottish caps by the time he signed for Saints.

He played throughout that season.....and we won promotion in May 1966. After starting the Div.! season in August, he broke a leg in collision with our LB Denis Hollywood in the home game v.Liverpool.

He eventually returned to first team duty in August 1967 by which time Eric Martin had become the regular keeper.(.Have you heard of him ?)

Sadly CF had a weight problem due to the long lay-off, and had lost a lot of his former skill and played his last game in Jan 1968. A great character, though.

In fairness to Gazzaniga, he really is very young(I mean he was born in the same year as me, and I'm pretty damn young), so he'll learn and get better. Goalkeepers don't peak till late twenties to early thirties.

This is not against your opinion, I am just quoting you because of the age factor in your quote.....

I think the age factors are irrelevant cause we are playing in the Premier League and if you are going to be in the team it is about one thing and that is being good enough to earn your spot in the team. I am 100% sure that players like Gazza, Shaw etc are really tired of hearing "they are good considering their age" and that kind of opinions. They are professional football players that wanna be in the team due to their performance, not due to age. They should be evaluated by the same standards as everyone else in the team.

I'd try and get him for 2 seasons if we could, I think he's one of the best GKs in the prem right now and if he's kept himself in overall shape there's no reason why he couldn't do a Brad Friedel and go on for some time yet.

Just a shame few of the fans or the management could see it with all the strange tinkering that has cost us points.

All dependent on prem survival of course.

IF we stay up I would love Boruc to sign an extended deal.

I would also love it if we signed Cesar (who, IMO, has been THE best 'keeper in the Prem this season) as I doubt he will want to play in the Champ with QPR next season.

Why does every single one of your posts have to be about yourself, a friend or acquaintance? You are the most tedious person.
