Season ticket prices next season

We dont have a half filled stadium, ours is around 93% full which suggests the chairman has got the prices spot on as people are buying them and it's almost full to capacity but not quite. Credit to the chairman for an exceptional pricing policy.

My suggestion is not that we currently have a half filled stadium, it is my concern that if prices inflate we will end up with this.

Until there is a waiting list for STs the club cannot raise prices too much as their first objective is to sell out with just ST sales. Set prices too high too soon and that objective will not be realised. What will fill the ground is a genuine top four team that neutrals as well as local want to see. Clearly we're not anywhere near that yet. Once that happens and all STs are sold before a ball is kicked pricing will depend exactly on how many people are on a waiting list. That insures the club against losing a few though high pricing by having enough demand to cover any shortfall. The spanner in the works for the club is that until demand for STs is 100% with a significant waiting list there will be no point in building a larger stadium as that would also work against higher pricing but satisfying any latent demand and resulting in less than 100% sales.

My hunch is we're OK for another two or three years at the very least with above inflation increases - prices advancing by between 5% and 7% depending on reaction from fans and whether STs sales start going into decline

Cortese has got the prices spot on so far and I expect him to continue to do so. I like the idea of paying a bit more as we will get a premium product and will keep the riff raff away from the club. I applaud the chairman for his vision and foresight and personally would like to see the booking fee increased as well so only the most affluent and loyal fans can attend. I don't want to be surrounded by badly dressed scum who can't string two words together from their potty mouths full of crocked yellow teeth.

I sort of agree but also think the tickets should be accessible by all fans not just those with disposable income. I don't think you understand my point really.

Well maybe in terms of my current seat yes. A budget is there for a reason - i.e. there's other life essentials to worry about. Ask your Mum and Dad about that stuff.

I asked my dad about it and he said if the club wanted to charge me an extra 35p a game then I simply don't buy a packet of hula hoops ones a fortnight at lunchtime and put that 35p towards the extra ticket cost. I'm sure I could cope with that.

Don't matter how entertaining it is, if you can't afford more than a certain figure then you can't afford it. Anything north of £650 will be a challenge in my household.

I agree. Football in general is too expensive. You look at United, arsenal, city etc they all pay ridiculous amounts for tickets meaning a lot of them (especially utd) are tourist fans. We need to keep the ticket price reasonable so that normal fans can come not just those who have a lot of dispensable cash.
