sotonian Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Obviously season ticket prices will increase next season, but what would be your limit? i think at £700 I would moan a bit but would still renew anyway, much above £700 and I'd start picking and choosing my games
doddisalegend Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Well I gave mine and the kids STs up as to expensive this season so I doubt I 'll be getting one next season....
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 No need to go up, they're enough as they are!
alehouseboys Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 It's not gonna happen of course, but...I think all Premier League clubs should seriously be looking at cutting their prices next season, mugs not to as more and more fans are gonna decide to keep their money in their pocket and just watch (any Prem) game down the pub or from the comfort of their home, for free, via their 'puters.
ericb Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 £700 is the cut off for me, and sadly i think that means i won't be going next season. My guess will be that renewals will be around the £720 mark to cover the spending on the team (if we stay up of course). Means i'll have to pick and choose games for the first time since the late 80s, fu.ck me i hate modern football!
ant Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 How much did I pay this year... £575 for renewals wasn't it? Surely can't jump higher than £650. Well, it'd better not anyway. Scraping together every penny at the moment to put down the deposit on a house, can't see my lady being happy with me lobbing the best part of a grand at a season ticket (if that's the way it goes)... £700 would be £36.84 per game just for ST holders, goodness knows how expensive that would make one-offs.
Turkish Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I think Cortese will price them in a fair and reasonable way like he always has done so that the right people can afford it and that we feel we are getting good value but at the same time paying for a premium brand product that reflects our status in UK soccerball.
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Wouldn't be surprised if renewals were £600, new buys £650. Can't see it being much more than that.
Chez Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 no matter how much they are increased by, there will be people on here taking great pleasure in telling me that if I don't like it then "simply don't pay it". I don't see any reason to put them up again. The TV money increase is so big there is no reason to put ticket prices up.
100%Red&White Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Stoke were advertising next season's ST prices on the electronic boards during a recent cup game on TV, cheap as chips. Just had a look and they start at £275 for adults and don't really get that much dearer. http://www.stokecityfc.com/tickets/seasontickets/
solentstars Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 getingt close to what i am willing to pay so if the season ticket prices start to get silly i will have to chuck it in and go and watch eastleigh instead
Turkish Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Stoke were advertising next season's ST prices on the electronic boards during a recent cup game on TV, cheap as chips. We are magnificent by comparison.
Turkish Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 All you people complaining need to remember where we were 4 years ago, we nearly didn't have a club to support!! Get your hands in your pockets you ungrateful whingers!

rshephard3 Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 £600 renewal limit for me. £31.58 per game. More than that I'll join a decent golf club. Can't see them changing from this season TBH. People are just about fed up with the cost of football and I can't justify costs around £35/£40 a game, I'd start picking and choosing as opposed to a season ticket I reckon.
Treesaint Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I heard from a very reliable source that all games will be maximum £12 next season in our new 1,000,000 capacity stadium so £12 x 19 home league games (naturally relegation is not a possibility with new World class manager) = £228. Any more than £200 for a ST and I will be launching legal proceedings against the CoC for misrepresentation
100%Red&White Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 That'll be the page titled " HALF season tickets 2012/13" then Oh, good spot. Will have to take another look because the prices advertised recently I remember being very good. But they dont have a chairman with the ambition and rescources of Cortese, a state of the art training ground and aren't planning a bigger stadium and play hoofball. We are magnificent by comparison. Ahem. http://www.stokecityfc.com/news/article/stadium-plan-640488.aspx Did saw the weekend, and I do understand the circumstances, adult STs at Wigan this season equated to (cheapest) £13 per game, (dearest) £15 per game, deserve bigger support.
sotonian Posted 7 February, 2013 Author Posted 7 February, 2013 I can easily see £700 being the price, whilst we'd all moan at first, with decent new players coming in, there would still be a decent take up, unfortunately football is changing, but not for the better
rshephard3 Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I can easily see £700 being the price, whilst we'd all moan at first, with decent new players coming in, there would still be a decent take up, unfortunately football is changing, but not for the better £37 a game is a lot. I think we're at the point where fans won't pay. If a standard renewal at SFC gets to £700 it'll be a pretty tragic day.
Colinjb Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 All things considered.... it depends who my employer is a month or two from now!!
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 £700 is tragic for any football club. It's a hobby, yes its a lifestyle aswell but can't justify it. People are being priced out of football enough. I certainly wouldn't renew if it went to that, as I just simply dont have the money.

Surely the lack of support is precisely why they are so cheap!
Saint_clark Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I actually don't think they'll increase that much, that's why they were put up by such a large margin after promotion.

Dimond Geezer Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 For me & the kids it was about £1000 for this season, that's pretty much my limit. In fact this season I was going to bail out & keep the kids going, but the youngest didn't want to go with his big brother & my Mrs finally convinced me to do the deed (I think she may have 'plans' for when me & the kids are out:suspicious: ). We shall see come renewal time, but I think this may be my last season, unless we should get relegated, which will obviously lead to a price cut. (we don't have a flying pig emoticon)

beancounter saint Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Hence the (see above) I don't expect my renewal in the Kingsland/Northam corner to be any more than £650, will be a bit ****ed if it is. I know, I do have a knack of restating the obvious sometimes. What I'm trying to say though is that I'm sure they're only trying to maximise their total income like all the others so if they did get lots more fans through the doors, they'd only go and jack up the prices! I'd hope Saints keep renewal prices roughly the same but that may be wishful thinking. I seem to recall one of the tweaks they made for 12/13 was to extend the "centre" premium priced section of the two side stands which would have yielded a bit extra on top of the other increases. I was pleased that we managed to avoid that in Block 5.
JackanorySFC Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Heard a brutal stat recently: With the extra money Sky are putting in next season, EVERY club in the Prem could fill their grounds for free next season and not see a drop in revenue. Scary stuff really. For me more than £600 is too much, I miss 2 or 3 games a season as it is. If they went up to £700 I'd just get U12 tickets to every game and jib in, ultimately costing the club £300 from this season.

Bucks Saint Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Better be the same as I miss a few already. Any more and I will pick and choose, combined with the usual blend of away matches where I prefer the atmosphere to be honest
View From The Top Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 We've already decided not to renew next season. Too many games moved which means tickets have to be sold on as we can't go. That added to the invertible rise plus my sons own sporting commitments at a weekend means they are no longer value for money. We will do the occasional home game when visiting family and the northern/midland away games regardless of what league we are in.
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I only really got a ST to guarantee going away this season. Thats the only upside.
Toomer Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 But they dont have a chairman with the ambition and rescources of Cortese, a state of the art training ground and aren't planning a bigger stadium and play hoofball. We are magnificent by comparison. Changed your tune some what Turkish!
SaintSteve Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 All things considered.... it depends who my employer is a month or two from now!! Yes, just about sums it up.. still, we can always dip into Turkish's pockets which are well lined apparently

Heard a variation on this too when the deal was announced, I think the more people that talk about this major fact the less confident football clubs will be to pull all our pants down and bend us over.
Turkish Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Changed your tune some what Turkish! The CoC have preaching to me.
Turkish Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 £700 and the can bugg@r off One of them that wants success and quality players but doesn't want to pay for it I see.
Miltonroader07 Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I think £700 is my limit, maybe NC reads this page
Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Paid £695 this season - if it goes above £700 in this economic climate I will have to seriously consider chucking in the towel. I would be gutted though - waited so many years to get a decent ST seat and to be priced out now would really hack me off. Suppose I could move seat to the riff-raff sections.

Dan Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 Didn't get a ST this year and tbh I'm glad. Will proberly never get one again unless the price comes down and they actually become a good deal in the terms of saving. To many games at silly times with not enough 3 o'clock Saturdays for my liking. Been able to buy tickets for every home and away game that Ive needed this season, with virtually no issue at all so buying a ST offers very little in the terms of benefits. Don't even get the free £25 travel club voucher anymore!

Don't even get the free £25 travel club voucher anymore! I haven't been so lucky for the Man C and QPR games. I normally get two tickets in the Family Section (gson and self) but for both games there were no seats together, only singles. So the cost of going to Block 19 was an extra £16. Looks like Firstrowsports for me. If the club do expand, I can only hope they make the Family part bigger.

I have been a season ticket holder for the last 2 years and have been very regular attendee for 20+ years. I agree the prices are too expensive as they are but I will be getting mine again next year. I agree with previous comments and would say surely it is better to sell tickets at a lesser price and fill the stadium rather than having a half filled stadium. Would be nice to see a bit of a price drop or at least stay the same. With current climate unfortunately the club will have to realise it is (for most) a luxury that people may choose to go without.

We dont have a half filled stadium, ours is around 93% full which suggests the chairman has got the prices spot on as people are buying them and it's almost full to capacity but not quite. Credit to the chairman for an exceptional pricing policy.

Paper and ink FFS. I'm just enjoying the trappings of success, one of them being able to afford a season ticket with my massive commisions which have seen me take home a personal best of £1287 In Januarys pay.
Dr Who? Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 I think, if we stay up,that season tickets will be frozen, as the push starts for the bigger stadium.
