Saint Charlie Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Suprised there isn't a thread on this. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/eterna-becomes-official-timekeeper-642533.aspx Nice to see another leading business choose to associate with Saints. I am excited to see the new clock and was particularly empowered by this quote from David Valleta, VP at Eterna: “As a founding member of the Premier League, Southampton shares the same values as Eterna: a pioneering and innovative spirit, attention to detail and a belief in teamwork.
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I don't think I've ever heard of Eterna...
Dig Dig Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Great news for the club and another demonstration on Cortese's ability to build and leverage business realtionships for the benefit of the club. We can all feel good about being Saints fans today.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 February, 2013 Author Posted 7 February, 2013 (edited) I don't think I've ever heard of Eterna... They have been designing fine Swiss watches for over 150 years. Here is a review of one...Ive heard that ticket loyalty points will be able to be redeemed for Eterna vouchers. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f74/eterna-kontiki-sports-watch-quick-review-32472.html Edited 7 February, 2013 by Saint Charlie

Hatch Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I don't think I've ever heard of Eterna... and in about another half an hour will probably never hear of them again. They are the 'official timekeepers' of what exactly?
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 We get a new clock, and they get their name on the big screens. And they timekeep injury time, goals, subs, and anything else I guess.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 February, 2013 Author Posted 7 February, 2013 and in about another half an hour will probably never hear of them again. They are the 'official timekeepers' of what exactly? They are the Official Timekeepers of Southampton FC. Its in the first sentence of the OS article: Southampton Football Club today welcomes Swiss luxury watchmakers Eterna as our Official Timekeeper. Excellent move from the club.
Scummer Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Did they make the watch that Liebherr gave to Cortese?
krissyboy31 Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I'm a bit surprised by this seeing the clock underneath NC's seat is an Omega!
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I was really hoping we secured Rolex as our new Timekeepers so we had something catchy to sing from the stands.
Scudamore Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Can see this thread being 30 pages or so...
Saint Garrett Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Does our AAP sponsorship finish this summer? Would be interesting to see if we renew and go with a local name which is what was announced at the time, or whether we go for a big money spinning sponsor.

Cue someone saying we should have a local charity.

St Chalet Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Does our AAP sponsorship finish this summer? Would be interesting to see if we renew and go with a local name which is what was announced at the time, or whether we go for a big money spinning sponsor. Nope, another season I believe.
lloydie Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I thought Omega were decent enough as far as club sponsers/timekeepers went! Good enough for the 'lympics anyway.
Tom28 Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Nope, another season I believe. There is another season, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had a new shirt sponsor next season anyway.
dubai_phil Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 Oh Krap. Does this mean I now cannot wear my Original Rolex Polo shirt to games? Where do I leave my Tag on matchdays? Mind you with my local contacts maybe I can get them running off some Eterna rip off's for 20 quid and make a killing alongside Turkish & his Foam Fingerd
Crab Lungs Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 I won't be happy until I see Nate Clyne, Artur Boruc, Morgan Schneiderlin, Richard Chaplow and Ryan Dickson wolfing down a Toblerone in a terrestrial TV commercial.
Winchester Red Posted 7 February, 2013 Posted 7 February, 2013 If it means the bloody clock won't stop on 90.00 and will continue into injury time then it gets my vote. Stopping at 90.00 has always p1ssed me right off!
lloydie Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 I thought Omega were decent enough as far as club sponsers/timekeepers went! Good enough for the 'lympics anyway.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 Omega put the first watch on the moon - what have these guys done?
Faz Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 Omega put the first watch on the moon - what have these guys done? No-one went to the moon - certainly not the Americans. HTH
Surfin' Saint Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 I wonder if they were the company that made the watch ML gave to NC? Wouldn't mind reading that story again if anyone knows where it is
Turkish Posted 8 February, 2013 Posted 8 February, 2013 Excellent news. Always good to see us associated with quality brands and these watch makers are certainly a premium brand and a bit more classy than the brands like omega and Rolex where fakes are rife and worn by wannabe gangsters and insurance brokers. I'm glad to see we are keeping standards high.

CB Saint Posted 11 April, 2014 Posted 11 April, 2014 LOL attending a jewellers in Winchester - I wonder if this is part of the great global commercial drive that Ralph envisaged Baby steps, baby steps.. First Winchester, then the world
DuncanRG Posted 11 April, 2014 Posted 11 April, 2014 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/11143564.Saints_stars_celebrate_time_in_jewellers That answers the question of where all the watches had gone from the contract photos. They were putting them all together to make one giant watch.
Goatboy Posted 11 April, 2014 Posted 11 April, 2014 Did they make the watch that Liebherr gave to Cortese? Sucker!
Goatboy Posted 11 April, 2014 Posted 11 April, 2014 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/11143564.Saints_stars_celebrate_time_in_jewellers We're signing Hulk then?
SO16_Saint Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Possible shirt sponsor for next season maybe? I was surprised they weren't from this season TBF
