So a great performance by England (how poor were Brazil?) but of greater concern to us is Saints players - how did Davis, Yoshida and especially Forren get along in their games?

 

Also as typical both Lens and Astori played in the Netherlands - Italy game and had blinders. Why is is that whenever we are linked with but miss out on a player they turn out to be brilliant... sign them and they turn out crap?

Don't agree Brazil were poor - they had some top chances. England for once played a tactically class game where they worked their socks off.

The absolute nonsense in the media which continues to surrounded this kid is ridiculous. He is one of the, if not, the worst defenders in the PL - but you never hear that spoken about. He's been 'quietly' moved to midfield because he's so horrendous at his supposed proper job.

Like you say, Malta is Malta. I'd expect a L1 player in the 'No 10' role to look good against them. Stick him in there against Casemero, Rodri or Fernandez and let's see what happens.

Biding your time for 10 years to comment on an ultimately inconsequential event in a game against Malta. You have to admire that.
