Quite fancy the winter Olympic next Feb. had my name down for a few months now, and now on the list.

Thinking of going for a week 16th -23rd and booking up for the whole family. Only if I get tickets mind.

Quite fancy ice hockey, ski jump, snow boarding and bobsleigh.

Anyone else on here into their winter sports?

Yep, really enjoy the Winter Olympics. Still feels like genuine sport, not like the Summer Circus.

Also somewhat satisified that the one significant fly-in-the-ointment to this sporting spirit, Lynsey Vonn, appears likely to miss it. She's a one-woman circus.

The sport does originate from Britain..... My god!

I watch Guildford flames and they are full of Canadians, and here is the problem. British national league my arse, bit like the English premier league.

Also been looking for an American football team in the local area, and they are full of, yes you guessed it Americans.

Fifth world championship for Aksel Lund Svindal in slalom! That's in addition to his Olympic gold from 2010. He's not quite up there with Kjetil Andre Aamodt yet, but must be the one to watch in 2014.

Funny to see that there is a British cross country skiing hope. I never thought anybody British could compete with the Norwegians. Pretty much every Norwegian can cross country ski pretty well by the age of about 5 and that's not an exaggeration. I'd put it far ahead of any other sport for participation here.
