Don't think Nigel won it once last season!? Few of our boys must have won the player award though. Lambert? Lallana? Chambo ?

:scared:

WTF..!!!

makes you think...if morgan played like he does (or even not as well) for a liverpool or arsenal...he would be lauded as one of the best in the land....

no one can tell me henderson or diaby are better than him at the moment

Fair play to Le Fondre as he has been clinical with the chances he has had.

McDermott though... seriously? They have been utter ****e in most of those five matches and have got some lucky points. I would like to think however gave these awards out thought about them a bit more.

Actually, no I wouldn't. I couldn't care less. Well done to both. I think your club is sad though.

It's a tricky one cos normally I don't care much for people talking about luck and fair play for Reading for picking up quite a few points in January. BUT in at least three of those matches - WBA, Newcastle and Chelsea - they should have been dead and buried by half time and relied on profilgate finishing by the other team.

On the other hand you have to hand it to ALF. He may be a rat-face little **** but he know how to finish given the chance.

Still think Le Fondre is poo (though a couple of good finishes seem to be the way to win play of the month now).

McDermott's prize is a very slow and patronising clap that realistically he should have been doing a lot better up until now and one run of a couple of results needs to embarrassingly congratulated.

You make me laugh....a £300K acquisition who lacks pace but has a definite eye for goal......I watched the Reading Chelsea match and I reckon we should beat them but Kebe is still a threat...the Russian striker "the Pog" they have is hopeless from what I saw. Reading play with the Pog up front in a loan striker role.

Our game against them is pivotal and I would love to go...do I want to sit in the away fans and watch it? Not sure. I hate low lifes and asking the Saints guys to sit down so I could watch the game was tantamount to me offering to fight them.

Strange to win it without starting games. Impact sub of the month yes, player? No chance.

Still funny anyone thinks there's a curse.

To be honest, I think there is something psychological in it. It's human nature to take your foot off the gas when you think you've reached your target. The players may think conciously or unconciously - 'The gaffer's won MOM because we've been playing so well'. The Mgr will also undoubtedly put some praise on the team, even with the caveat of 'we've won/achieved nothing yet'. It's easy for players to fall into the trap of believing their own hype...

I'm glad we won so few on our rise up...

Honestly he isn't that good, he can score but only when no one is bothered about him in the last 15 mins. Start him or ask him to do anything other than hit it from 6 yards out and he'll give you a brain dead stare. Shows what a joke the play of the month award is when someone gets it for playing about 40 mins of football across a month.

By all accounts we have to beat them, and should, just requires no switching off at 80 mins.

you really think players work like that..?

im guessing we were not bothered about van persie from 85 mins at SMS...or the countless other late goals we have let in..

he is clearly a brilliant impact sub and has a eye for goal

played no where near amount of football as lambert and scored almost the same amount of goals.

not bad for a player no one worries about...

He is not a target man and does not stretch teams... so the Pog gets the nod. The reminds me of Raziak a bit, different physical build but both slow

It surprises me that Le Fondre doesn't get many minutes on the pitch - he has a great knack of scoring important goals, but I wonder why McDermott puts him on the bench.

He also reminds me a bit of Jan Aage Fjortoft in that he too had a great knack of scoring important and sometimes sensational goals in a relegation threatened team.

More time on the pitch probably wouldn't improve his strike rate. Seems to be sent on to exploit tired defences and it works well.

Le Fondre is underrated.

Schneiderlin and Lallana are better than many premier league midfielders and were last year even in the Championship.

I wouldn't swap them (or cork) for any of the midfields outside the top 6.

I'm not one for overstating our players ability ala the 'Kelvin for England' brigade whilst in L1, but I wonder if Alex Ferguson might take a look at Schniderlin as a long term successor in the Carrick role.

To be fair to Henderson he's started to look a much better player recently, got some of his Sunderland form back. Don't be fooled by the Talksport people say he's sh it so he must be bandwagon.

He's got a good turn of pace

But watching a couple if games last season, he's not really got much stamina

Mcd plays him very well

Bring him on when the opposition are tiring use his pace

Couple of good finishes this season though ( and some jammy ones)

What does impress me about Le Fondre is that he shoots hard for goal on sight and does not waste time trying to tee it up or dribble round every player in front of him ( Ramires!!)
