georgeweahscousin Posted 5 February, 2013 Share Posted 5 February, 2013 Long shot I know, but me and my mate celebrated like nutters right amongst the home support (couldn't restrain ourselves). Would love to see it on video!

Saint Charlie Posted 5 February, 2013 Share Posted 5 February, 2013 How did our smoke bomb look from the home stands?
georgeweahscousin Posted 5 February, 2013 Author Share Posted 5 February, 2013 1. On the whole they reacted pretty well. I was in the first row of exec seats behind the 'normal fans' a bit of name calling, and disgusted looks but it was ok. Obviously got a fair bit our way when they equalised.... 2. I didn't see the smoke bomb at all I'm afraid.
georgeweahscousin Posted 5 February, 2013 Author Share Posted 5 February, 2013 A mate of mine was in the Wigan stand behind the goal, and kept texting me, saying "can't see you" after the goal he text "Spotted you now. You nutcase."

The Wigan fans around us were impressed. Lot's commented on how loud we were.

I must have been in the dead zone - at the very bottom corner of the away stand - as all i could hear was the bl**dy Wigan drum....

Would love to see it on video! Match of the Day certainly had some footage of the away fans after Morgan's goal, cos *I* was on MotD on Saturday "shalalalalalalalala"ing. alehouseboys Posted 5 February, 2013 Share Posted 5 February, 2013 As all the other skates had obviously all gone down for a slash at the same time this pic of them makes it easy to work out how many we must have had there Saturday. Each block holds just over a thousand seats, we had 4 (plus slight spillage into the far end smaller one) so must have been the best part of 4,000 up there. Thedelldays Posted 5 February, 2013 Share Posted 5 February, 2013 That picture can't be right. The skates are the bestest fans ever. Even on of their player wrote as such on a manky bed sheet

Saint Garrett Posted 5 February, 2013 Share Posted 5 February, 2013 Reckon it wasn't far off 4000. I noticed it says in the programme the previous games attendances incluing away fans. So if anyone is going to any other Wigan games at the DW, then buy a programme so we can find out lol
The9 Posted 5 February, 2013 Share Posted 5 February, 2013 One Skate's response to that picture of the Skates I saw on a friend's wall on FB was that "they must have missed the time we took over 5000". He didn't link to any attendance figures or anything. Just saying.

alehouseboys Posted 6 February, 2013 Share Posted 6 February, 2013 Tbf they did have a similar turn out at Wigan as us once but circumstances were a bit different. Their's was a last day 'honest 'arry' great escape that saw them (cheating of course) stay up. It's a bit like us using the 15,000 we took to Selhurst Park and a few others in the same scenario to compare it to. And everyone takes a decent number away last day whatever the importance of the fixture. No, the only comparison is what us and them both took to Wigan mid-season in the same league and this sums it up... ...be interesting to see how many they take to Hartlepool in a few weeks, we took 900 in the middle of a cold November week.
