Well im happy in a way as we are 4 points clear and Wigans next game is Man City, best there get is a point, leaving us at worse 3points clear, we need 10 points to stay up, or 13 if Wigan win vs City.

Reading worry me....just look at their home games...

looking at that, it is hard to see QPR getting enough points...

every time we fuk up a win, it puts added pressure on games like the man city game......

Reading's remaining fixtures aren't looking too kind now. Next two of Man Utd and Arsenal away, then us (which they have to win) and then Liverpool at home.

They won because Pards did what he does best - buy well in the window. Not sure how good a coach he is, but he's a genius at spotting the right players to improve his team. SRL take a bow...

Pretty sure they have a 'transfer commitee' just like we do.

Your opinion. I think on the whole our signings were pretty decent.

So if somebody told you in June, Ramirez and Rodriguez would score six league goals between them by mid-March you'd of been happy and said sign them up? At £19m that's over £3m per goal!

I really don't think it's that black and white to be honest. I agree we probably overpaid for both, but then 6m for J-Rod is probably about the going rate for a young English striker, and Gaston is highly rated across the world, a full international, and played a season in Serie A as one of Bologna's best players.

You can bring up examples of other options which back up either arguement, but if they both fulfill their potential then their value won't decrease. Time will tell. Someone on here said you can only really tell if someone was good value or not once they've left. If Ramirez doesn't really contribute much more then leaves for £4m then yes it was an awful bit of business and a waste of money, but if he turns into a top player and we sell him for £20m then it was a superb bit of business.

I think we could have done better in the transfer market but I also think we could have done much worse.

We could have done better, we could have signed Adam Johnson.

13 points and you would put your house on us going down ?! That would give us 41 points...

Dont forget the £8m we wasted on Mayu and Forren!!

Pri cks are out in force again. You're such a sad ****er, why don't you just give a rest, or do you still think you're funny?

Relax mate, no need to get upset. I was asked if i had written off two players who cost £8m but never play.

Yeah "mate" you're just trying to be helpful, tosser. And before someone says just put dicks like him on ignore, how about gimps like him stop ****ing this board up for everyone else?

If you dont like me mate (not sure why you would hate me) you should put me on ignore?

I know how you feel. There do seem to be rather a lot of them on here these days.

Mate of mine who knows Johnson, yes. Well something along those lines anyway. A lot more than the £60k/week Gaston is on.

I'm convinced. All the reports are wrong and your mate who knows him or something like that is right.

Yep unfortunately!! There use to just be the odd one or two but now there seems to be 5 or 6. I've put them all on ignore but there isn't a lot left!

The prob is that they reel in unsuspecting posters, who then get riled and quote them, so we actually end up having to read their tosh anyway.

I wager that Puddings, Tamesaint, Garrett and S-Clarke are not on any other boards/forums apart from this one. They clearly have no idea of how bad messageboards can get. This place is heaven compared to the sh*te that's out there. Be thankful and count your lucky stars.

Very true mate but the mods aren't going to ban them so ignore is the next best thing. Will get to the point when decent posters like yourself just give up on it. They're either kids on here for something to do, fans of other clubs in a windup, or genuinely want our club to fail.

Or, in my case, all three! :D;):smug:

Lots of good posters don't bother any more and you can see why!

I may be wearing rose coloured specs but i dont think id swop our fixtures to any of the others apart from QPr and then Im not sure they will be that easy either. We should scrape through, a couple of wins and 2 draws should be enough. QPR have won 2 in a row and so everyone is bigging them up,but how many more wonder goals do they have in the side?

I agree, just need to sweat the next two fixtures out and there are some games we can win. However if we lose the next two what effect that will have on the team.

If QPR fail to win at Villa, and other teams in the bottom few pick up points at the weekend, people will be saying they've got no chance again. Villa seem to be doing a bit better and will put up more of a fight than Sunderland (and ourselves, annoyingly). A draw would be perfect as it's no good for QPR and would keep Villa below us. Wigan have a tough home game against Newcastle who are on the up, but I fancy Sunderland to pick up at least a point at home against Norwich. United should smash Reading without too much bother. I guess Fergie will be fuming and demanding a response.

I don't think we'll get anything against Liverpool, but I also think the other results will mean not a lot changes over the weekend, just 1 less game for the sides trying to catch us.

I have us finishing on 40 points (that included a correct forecast of a draw against Norwich) and I'm convinced that will be enough. However......I fear we will only get one point from these next two home games. Liverpool look in absolute prime form which is sods law.

If I'm right, I just hope everyone sticks together because as others have identified the fixtures then get a lot better. The preachers of doom will be trotting out anti-MoPo stats about only one win in lots, so it won't be easy to keep things positive. But we absolutely must!

I'd say that sounds pretty optimistic. I had us on 38 and getting nothing from the next 2 matches - and even then we didn't drop into the bottom 3. But by the Reading match we'll really need some points.

Just glancing at our fixtures again, and I think perhaps we could get 10 more points. That includes a win against Stoke on the last day, so really it's only 7 points until that game. That's not a great stat. Anything, ANYTHING we can pick up against Liverpool or Chelsea would be a massive bonus. We need to stay in this division, there's no other way of saying it, and that means winning the winnable games. Failure to do that, we go down and lose our best players. Simple as that. I think we could survive but it will be a close run thing. It's like being a Saints fan of old. I'd forgotten how gruelling it was.

New brooms, new players, new ownership, new dreams, new Chairman.

But for me your last sentence has summed up this season. New is good, change is good, and dreams are important.

BUT they must always be built on experience.

That experience of what it used to be like is what we truly needed this year. That understanding that The Southampton Way will work, but ONLY when we have earnt the right on AND off the pitch but MOST importantly in the Stands.

The fans know what is required in the next matches. Time for them to stand up and lead the players across the line

I think:

Liverpool: Draw,

Chelsea: Loss,

Reading: Draw,

West Ham: Win,

Swansea: Loss,

West Brom: Win,

Spurs: Loss,

Sunderland: Loss,

Stoke: Win.

That would give us 39...might be enough.

Wow - just had a look at the Sunderland remaining games - if they don't win today (one nil down but with a one man advantage), I really think they will struggle big time, specially if we get something at their place! They are very much in it!

Wigan-Newcastle today will decide a lot in the bottom three.

If Newcastle win it´s a long way back for bottom three since Wigans other game in hand is Man C away.
