Would relegation really be that bad?

Cheaper tickets.

More home games.

More traditional Saturday 3pm kickoffs.

Less plastics.

Easier to get a half time beer.

More chance of winning games.

Better atmosphere.

All these things would come true if we were relegated. I'm not sure relegation would be worth getting all stressed about tbh. I quite liked last season.

you're joking, right ?

playing in a lower league AGAIN ..with anything over 20,000 looking like " a good gate...." NO more televised matches....NO more £60 million TV sponsorship ...and back to buying in players for 250K.......or being glad to get someone " half-good " on a free transfer... Really, I don't think so.

God I miss the good old days already nothing like unearthing a lower league gem who is massively grateful to the club for less than a million, or being at SMS were 20,000 fans are there for saints rather than to see another PL side no tele ****ing up the traditional 3.00 sat kick off..................... whats not to like

. I haven't enjoyed this season much at all the journey to the PL is far more enjoyable than actually being in the PL.

In a nutshell. Enjoyed last season much more than this season. Better atmosphere, winning more games, affordable tickets, just a better match day experience imo. At the end of the day I go to watch Saints not the opposition. The Premier League is soulless and ridiculously over hyped and I wouldn't be too bothered to see us back in the Championship.

It would be our own fault we went down through the obvious failure to secure quality players in the last two windows, at least if we went down the clappers would disperse and the fans who are realistic and dont actually think we will be challenging for the top 6 in 3 years time garbage. To do that we would need to spend more than is so blatently obviously apparent for our chairman.

Once again a post that says it as it is ! Well done again !

Personally, I prefer the NPC but you may as well have a go at the Premier, even if just for the money.

I think it was obvious by July that our season would be based on a wing and a prayer.

Indeed. That's why we only spent $35 million on players, the 7th highest in Europe.

One of my longest ever posts on S4E was about this. At the time, said it wouldn't be that terrible, and that Premier League football was too often seen as the be-all and end-all.

Well, I got to experience all of that first hand. It wasn't that bad, but I do wonder how terrible it could have been without the eventual buyout. Coming back up was excellent, but boy did we fall. That was not fun.

It wouldn't be that bad, as long as the resources are there to get back.

it would be that bad, especially given the hike in TV cash

I hope anybody asking this question is prepared to support the people who would lose their jobs upon relegation.

I liked last season too, because we were achieving success in the one thing every team sets out to achieve - promotion. We got that, why would we want anything other than to consolidate and build on that?

I am not "Team Relegation". I don't go to games and will our players to make defensive errors or score own goals.

But if we do get relegated, no biggie for me as a fan, and I'm one of these wingnuts who wants to see us pushing for Europe.

That would be my main disappointment if we go down. Bucharest away was one of the best trips I've ever had, would love to do a proper European tour.

In fact if will did ever qualify for the Europa I would probably not bother with a season ticket and spend my cash going on the European games.

So would I, the only bit I am jealous of the clubs that get frequent european football.

It is a shame that only a handful of clubs get to experience it. I've watched England away numerous times and each time has been sh!t compared to the Saints trip. With England you just get a bunch of @arseholes causing aggro.
