KelvinsRightGlove Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 Saw this article on t'beeb. Seems a bit disingenuous to me, we may have spent more in fees, but I'd be quite happy to wager they are outspending us massively in wages and agent fees - which lets face it is just money going out of the game. Probably also doesn't include severance packages, I'd imagine Hughes was more than Adders. Oh, 'Arrys payments should probably be factors in too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21312589
Thedelldays Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 what are they now...7 points from safety it had emerged the other days that none of their new signings have relegation wage cuts factored in if they get relegated.. I think that they expected to win yesterday.............. would absolutely love it if they went down...but the media will airbrush arry's part in that like they do with our relegation

S-Clarke Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 At least we actually put some thought into who we signed, in terms of long-term benefits and potential re-sale values. QPR just had this massive scattergun approach, where they picked up anyone who could breathe with very little thought into age, potential and long-term benefits. Their transfer policy is a complete and utter mess, and it has proven that this approach simply doesn't work.

Thedelldays Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 (edited) Harry will say he did his best but QPR were just too far adrift. Deja vu Reading the Sun today..he was saying all Odemwingie was guilty of was being too honest...... obviously, his tapping up had nothing to do with it just listening to the bollix that comes out of his mouth is horrible.......but the media never EVER have a pop at him....EVER just love the hypocrisy in this quote... ‘There’s an awful lot of players at this club earning far too much money for what they are; far, far, far too much money for their ability and what they give to the club.’ He added: ‘I don’t want to spend the owners’ money really. I’ve got to be honest with you. I don’t want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past. A lot of agents have made an awful lot of money out of them. I fined a player (Jose Bosingwa) last week and he was earning more than anybody at Tottenham, Edited 3 February, 2013 by Thedelldays
ottery st mary Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 (edited) I think Mr Tony has caught the Arry Boy didease:rolleyes: Arry has a way of convincing peeps that he comes free and does not actually spend any dosh;) Come on you experts......income and expenditure of both clubs over the last few years... Mr Tony has or the club has when he walks away.....bigger debts ..even before Arry arrived:p Edited 3 February, 2013 by ottery st mary

Just a question as I feel we could have bought more prudently with defenders (since addressed with Foren ?)and midfield more of a priority at the time? KelvinsRightGlove Posted 3 February, 2013 Author Share Posted 3 February, 2013 not sure I agree.....Mayuka and Ramirez look like £15m down the drain thus far....hope they turn it around Samba and Ramirez cost roughly the same. If both were to be shifted in close season, I'd imagine they'd fetch a similar fee. Samba is at his peak, and probably overpriced. Ramirez is young and has potential to improve, and therefore increase in value. Not to mention Samba is probably on twice Gastons wages.

SaintBobby Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 I agree that Gaston has failed to impress. But there's time for him to come good. Nevertheless, it was a wise signing at the time. Expensive - but consistent with our approach of signing youngish players who will/could improve.

swannymere Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 I can't remember where but i've read somewhere since transfer day that QPR have committed £68.5M in transfer fees, agents fees and wages for Chris Samba and Loic Remy! If true that's absolutely firkin' mental.

UpweySaint Posted 3 February, 2013 Share Posted 3 February, 2013 Gaston and Mayuka both v young and loaded with potential. I'd suggest Ramirez was pricey but thats the going rate for an international player with his kind of potential playing in a big league. If we offloaded now we'd still fetch around ten million without much worry imo. Mayuka may turn out to be a complete bargain 3.5 doesnt get you a lot often in this day and age, yes there are exceptions to the rule, and if the media talk of his potential is to be belived it may be very good business for us. Samba is a beast, a cracking player, but its a gamble. They've gambled on staying up by spending big, we've invested long term.

S-Clarke Posted 7 March, 2013 Share Posted 7 March, 2013 QPR chairman Tony Fernandes admitted that spending needed to be "closely monitored and controlled". Fair point. So therefore, I will spend £12m on Samba and 80k p/w. Completely in control.
