Trouble after the game?

even as a wind up what a stupid comment

nothing worse than spitting

So if someone turned up at your house with a whirring chainsaw, and was able to shout above the noise to give you two options:-

a) bloodily amputate all your limbs

b) spit on you

...you'd go for option a), I take it?

Surprised you didn't film your crew acting like bell's after the game and whack that up on youtube as well.

dont have a crew,go with my son and a couple of others

its a sad day when people are uptight about smoke bombs and lads having a crack on a away day and then judge them

i put the clips up for those who cant or dont do aways, just so they get a feel for our support

if you dont like, like the television,DONT WATCH

I wouldn't bother replying to these clowns with their "hilarious' wind-ups.

lets put it in contex and not over the top,as you have

a;spat on

b;punched in the face

the punch,is preferable,if youre in a fight,have a fight,not throw coins and spit

It's an interesting view point but not one I share, unfortunately. Last fight I had was fifteen years ago at age 22, and I thought that a bit of a childish thing to be doing at the time.

Fair play to those who do continue fisticuffs into adult life, tho.

The trouble on the bridge was started by Wigan fans gobbing and chucking coins on the Saints fans below.

As for the bird claiming she got punched, like Turkish has said it's rather strange that not one single person saw this - or at least nobody has come forward to say they saw this. Surely after being 'assaulted' she would've reported this immediately to the police? Surely outraged members of the public would've seen this and grabbed the lad at the time?

I see she is circulating a picture on Twitter of the lad she claims did it, please nobody on here RT or post it - hardly fare putting someone through all that based on her accusations alone.

our friendly reporter Neil Allen deemed her accusation enough to deserve a retweet. What's the legalities of posting a photo of someone on twitter accusing them of something or other?

I am absolutely shocked and appauled that anyone would even start to think that any of these accusations i have made could even be slighly made up. The matter of the fact is, none of you were there or witnessed this, I was there and I was the one who had the effects of this, as well as my daughter. This has got totally out of hand now, all I did was make a comment on twitter regarding being hit, which was a fact as I was hit. The next day I woke up to over 50 tweets from southampton and other fans apologising on behalf of Saints. Your right, at first I didnt report this, because I ran away and got my child safely in my car and then home and to bed, reporting this didnt cross my mind as I said on one status ' theyll be half way back to southampton by now theres no point'. I did not think that this would cause such publicisty, and definately did not think I would come across a picture of the person to blame - which i must add - I DID NOT TAKE. This picture was found on a fellow saints FC twitter page, and was a picture of the fans BEFORE the game. This matter is in the hands of the police now and CCTV has been reviewed, but there is no cameras on the actual bridge and therefore I 99% doubt anyone could even see the incedent on any of the cameras, especially as it happened whilst I was squished up against many other larger and taller people. Comment all you want, but at the end of the day all I care about is the fact myself and my daughter are ok now and that she is not put off returning to the stadium she has been attending with me since the age of one.

so firstly the echo are now running stories based on unfounded accusations made on twitter and secondly she now claims no one could have seen her be punched as she was "squished up against many larger and taller people". So none of the people she was squished up against saw it or did anything and in the guy that was meant to have punched her managed to get to her despite her being squished in by all these people. How odd.

The Wigan "lads" and I use that term in the loosest sense, we either on, or over the bridge and the Saints lads on the tow path attempting to get on the bridge. Those caught between them, mainly family types, bore the brunt and many looked very scared. My 10yo was rather confused by it all as well.

Personally I think it's rather pathetic taking a firm to Wigan. Hardly a scalp.

From a Wigan forum.... http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=558&fid=516&sty=2&act=1&mid=2113295759

"I was right at the front of all this and although Southampton fans were doing their bit to cause mayhem there were a few wiganers doing their best to cause havoc as well. As the southampton fans started shouting quite a few lads pushed past me shouting lets get them in the canal. quite a few wiganers on the bridge were doing their best to goad them spitting and throwing coins started from the bridge and yes it wasn't pleasant for the families. at one point the southampton fans stood in a line and let those of us who weren't goading them and the kids carry on up the bridge."

I take this as the most likely scenario myself, this guy is a Wigan fan so very unlikely to be jumping to the defence of the oppo fans. If it was a Saints fan's words then you could probably write it off as just a bit of blame shifting. Again, if a Saints fan had come out and said he saw the Saints thug lump that bird then you would have to take it a bit more seriously.

But this is a regular poster on a Wigan forum who says he was right there at the front of the commotion, his version of events is almost the opposite from what's being peddled.

Sounds like she realises she got a bit carried away post-event pointing the finger in every direction.

She is now saying she that she has recognised the bloke that did it from a picture posted on twitter. An amazing conincidence that of all the hundreds of people walking past the area after the incident a picture the only picture posted on twitter was of the person that was supposed to have done it.

A Gem. Was he wearing Cuban heels?...

But it's really cool taking a "firm" somewhere well'ard?

Let's face it, it's pathetic either way.

Looks like he's got too much time on his hands going to all that effort to grass up a Twitter Troll.

He obviously must have been there and seen everything and will no doubt callobrate her accusations. Why else would he go to that much trouble for, what could be, some crazed-attention-seeking-woman?

I saw plenty but I certainly didn't see any Doris with a little un get smacked but there were plenty trapped between the two sets of lads.

Saw plenty of Wigan throwing coins, ripping bits off the bridge and hurling them down and northerners spitting.

Not sure what compells you to make a statement like this, but I assume you have the facts to back up your statement so please share them with us.
Take the opening post on their forum linked above. A sustained attack by a large group of Southampton fans on Wigan families for 10 minutes. There must be tons hospitalised by that I'm sure you'd agree? Serious injuries and a number of ambulances called to the scence? Or maybe a load of b*****s?

Even so, just a bit of a laugh innit.

Let's hope this is the defence in court. "and why did you assult this woman?" "SCUM ARMY, Mad bantz your honour" "Case dismissed!" Jurors started shoving each other, judge throws a smoke bomb. Hope the guys who did this get a lifetime ban in addition to jail time. Also lol at the guy earlier in the thread who said he wouldn't provide testimony becuase 'never grass up a fellow saints fan' or something similarly danny dyer. Hope he gets into fender bender one day and the only witness will refuse to help as he's an AA member like the guy that hit him.

Talk about OTT.

Granted we don't know exactly what happened at every point but I certainly didn't see any lass get chinned for the couple of mins we were wandering past.

Not defending her side of the story in any way, but....... she doesn't say that no one could have seen it. I understand your confusion as it is badly worded, but what she is saying is that she doubts it would have been seen by any CCTV cameras.

It certainly does seem unlikely that she was hit, as others have stated, due to the lack of anyone else corroborating her story. It would be amazing if one person hit another, with so many others around, and it not to be witnessed by anyone.

To each his own but I'd personally never help the OB (seen them happily lie to stitch football fans up with my own eyes) or grass on a fellow Saint.

WTF??

So, if you saw a fellow male Saints fan attack a woman (with or without a child her arms) you would not do anything to assist her in seeking justice (with help from the police)?

If you would really do nothing to bring such a lowlife to justice then you are not only less than a man but less than a human being, imho.

I have my own version of justice, one of which is innocent until proven guilty and grassing up a young lad on the basis of a blurry camera phone photo of a kid walking with his hands in his pockets for an incident that not a single other person seems to have witnessed is not my idea of justice.

To each his own (as I said earlier) but personally I despise the OB, I have my reasons for that and no, I don't have a criminal record. If I saw a doris take a slap to the mouth whilst holding a baby (and personally I don't think this actually happened) I'd restrain the attacker by going for his joints, eyes, b******s, nose and throat until he was no longer a threat, scan to ensure his pals don't go for me and get the f*** out of there - certainly wouldn't film it on a phone and tweet about it later in some desperate attempt to get a couple of retweets ffs.
