Lambert getting to 100 goals....

Someone should run around on the pitch for 10 minutes and then when we have 10 minutes added on at the end we could have a minutes applause in the 100th minute.

I actually have no idea what we should do, if anything. Except repeat his chant as loudly and for as long as possible.

@BroadcastMoose: Someone please tell me why Rickie Lambert isnt in the England squad and what he has to do to get Roy Hodgson's attention?

Sign for Liverpool or Man Utd.

I honestly believe he would go straight in the England team the week he signs.... It's ****ing nuts.

Yup looking forward to Gastons 1200 goals over his career! with us!

Rickie Lambert is the legend of this generation of the Saints. When he reaches 100 goals I will chant my lungs out, and thank him for every single goal which has been so important in bringing us back up to the top. I just hope I'm there to see it in person.

no international football, it's a big drawback for our players actually when national team selection is in the balance. If you're a native of a major footballing nation and don't have an Icelandic granny or something you probably won't get a first selection if you're not playing for a top 6 side with European experience. It's what drives players to leave smaller clubs where they're perfectly happy and integrated to sign for "top clubs" where they'"re often surplus to requirements for a while.

It would be nice if we could once again sing his chant properly before every match and after every goal he scores. We used to sing it united in support of this very special player. It was sung with gusto and passion and now half the stand either can't be arsed or are trying to sing something else, totally shameful really.

Rickie Lambert, Southampton Legend and a man who will be remembered by me for a very long time after he retires. The man is class.

He's got 89 league goals. One more will take him into the top ten of all time (well jointly anyway).

The full list of the club's top ten all-time Football League scorers are:

185 Mick Channon 1966–1977 & 1979–1982

162 Matthew Le Tissier 1986–2002

160 Terry Paine 1956–1974

156 Bill Rawlings 1920–1927

154 George O’Brien 1959–1966

145 Derek Reeves 1954–1963

145 Eric Day 1945–1957

134 Ron Davies 1966–1973

97 Martin Chivers 1962–1968

90 Tommy Mulgrew 1954–1962

Anyone know where he sits in the 'goals from all competitions' list?

Yeah:

1. Channon - 228

2. Le Tissier - 210

3. Rawlings - 193

4. Paine - 187

5. O'Brien - 180

6. Reeves - 173

7. Day - 158

8. Davies - 153

9. Dominy - 146

10. Chivers - 106

11. Mulgrew - 100

12. Moran - 99

12. Lambert - 99

Joint 12th. Not difficult to see him breaking the top five in the next few years if he stays with us.

As much as I love SRL there is no way he will score another 80 goals for us

Top ten maybe.

Can't see him scoring another eighty. If we remain in the Prem that would take him at least four full seasons. Probably five or six.

Still a Saints legend to me and the hero of this generation. Lallana, Ramires and the rest have to go some to match up.

I think we should lobby the owner of the Rickie Lambert Wikipedia site to change the bloody photo from a six year old Bristol Rovers shot, to a picture of him celebrating his ton for Saints!...

Take a photo, provide the right to use it freely, and we're done. Wikipedia has strong licensing restrictions, but if you take a photo yourself then you can use it. I have wanted that photo replaced for ages.

Not a chance really, unless we go back down and he stays. I reckon he'll end up in 10th place.
