Cork and Schneiderlin

Is it bad I can't name a pair of CM's in the league id take over them?

No?

Good! Best in the league, its awkward teams like Arsenal don't have 2 good ball winning and ball playing midfielders, at the same time... It's embarrassing Chelsea sold one of them too us!

Need I say more?

Hands up with this one - I thought they would struggle a bit this year but they've been excellent. I've watched our go-ahead goal half a dozen times from origin, and Schneiderlin ran almost 100 yards to be on the end of that Rodriguez cross. And that was after he'd already covered more ground than anyone else on the pitch.

I hate seeing him get unnecessary bookings because we just can't afford to lose him.

think Arsenal have the rights to buy MS at some point......which is a shame ;)

Both are looking class, if only we could get the attacking part of the team going.....

If some are to be believed, he's been an Arsenal player since 2009 and every season since he's just been on loan.

Honestly don't think their's many pairings in the league I would swap then for, bar say the top four teams.

They compliment each other so well.

Top lads both. Cork generally been well regarded on here. Schneiderlin took some stick early doors. Couldn't understand it whatsoever. His quality has been evident from day one.

I agree that Cork and Schneiderlin make a great MF pairing but when Cork was moved to RB at Wigan, he was noticeably weaker there than Clyne and probably was responsible for the second Wigan goal. Almost like Adkins was back with Pochettino making an inexplicable change when he brought JWP on for Clyne. Although JWP played perfectly well, that change disrupted the midfield and weakened the defence. The lesson should be to keep Cork and Schneiderlin together.

Before a ball was kicked this season it really should have been clear enough to any Saints fan that both Jack Cork and Morgan Schneiderlin had a great chance of establishing themselves as true Premier League players - and you can add Adam Lallana to that list too. There's really not a lot wrong with a midfield built around three young players as manifestly talented as this.

Whether we stay up or not, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us having to fend off serious interest in any of them this summer. All 3 are fine players but Morgan may well be the pick of the bunch. In his case methinks the bidding would have to start in the region of £8m or even £10m.

Even at that kind of serious money we'd be fools to take it.

we have a superb young team and you can just see them growing and playing together for years, developing and being successful....

...getting relegated would lose pretty much all of them and set us back years and years. =|

It's a nightmare prospect.....going down and losing the nucleus of this developing team. Yet as it stands we are one of five teams staring at the abyss.
