Duncan Holley will talk about his latest project 'Suited and Booted'

This is a must for Saints supporters interested in the history of Southampton Football Club.

He has put so much time and energy into this, full credit to Duncan and David Bull for proof reading.

These guys are a credit to Southampton Football Club.

Matt Le Tiss will also be there for Q & A

Home and an enjoyable 90 minutes with Duncan and Matt. FF gave a slide show for 30 mins about the Saints from St Marys to Soton FC. Photos of teams wearing the Sash strip and how the club started. Most enjoyable! Thank you FF.

Then onto a Q&A with Matt. He talked about goals he scored, managers (Branfoot/Hoddle/Ball), England, money (from Sky) in football, players wages, opponents he hated playing against etc

Everyone seemed to be waiting for someone else to mention 'The Don', so I did. I asked what did he hope to achieve from any meeting with Cortese and did he feel that the comments attributed to him has helped the situation or poured oil onto the fire?

To be honest, and this is my own view, I don't think the meeting will take place and if it does, things said tonight will make it a very fiery and short meeting.

Turkish, as the club reads this page, I really don't want to add fuel to the flames but lets say that Matt made some very strong personal comments. Mostly about how he and others were treated etc.

ps, if all that Matt said was true (and I have no doubt that it is) he and others really has been treated like ****.

Matt admitted that he had been naive about his involvement with the Pinnacle bid but that he was not told the truth.

I said this on the not606 site in October and got hammered for going against the "don", I believe Matt, he has and others have been treated like ****, Cortese buys the players and has a say on the team sheet.

equally..boohooo, NC said something about MLT

...its a personal issue he's playing out in public....how terrible...

Cortese is a pri ck and MLT well within his rights to say so.

Go on TDD, accuse me of "hating" him again...."hating" a beloved, err, Chairman of a football club. Because everyone loves chairmen of football clubs don't they. Thats why we all love the sport. For the chairmen.

You're the king of the boo-hoo brigade at the moment. Waaaaaaaah.

Matt did say that he hopes to get answers from Mr Cortese about how he is treated by the club. He told the audience that during a visit to a box, the waitress told him that she had been instructed to inform him that he was not allowed to go anywhere else in the stadium and he had to remain within the box. He also said that others were treated badly by the club. I think it honourable of Matt to try and fight against any 'injustice' of others by the club but should they not fight their own corner?

It seems that Franny's case against Cortese is due to be heard in court soon.

During Duncan's excellent talk on the clubs history, he told of a Cup (trophy) being found in a groundsmans hut. It was taken to the Trophyman's shop for valuation and Duncan was contacted. It turns out that it is the first cup won by St Marys FC and it was presentated to the Schools FA by Saints. The last winners were Woolston School (Hope I have all that correct, Duncan). It is hoped that a home for the cup can be found, which Duncan is looking into. Sadly, the Schools FA do not want in to go back to Saints.

Can only see one person getting a bit up tight here.

Well for a bloke who has no background in football he has done well then! I like the players he has signed and he has got them playing well. Well don Don, keep up the good work. :)

So, did he say anything new in regard to having problems with how Cortese is running the club? Or was it just that he's a disrespectful ***** that has a personal agenda against ex-saints and the clubs history?

By the way, it sounds like a great evening and I wish I went! The story about that cup sounds interesting, hopefully it finds a good home.

Was a great night and my little one was made up as he met MLT :)

Matt did ring the club to ask for a meeting last Monday and had no reply until Friday and was told yes to a meeting but it would be held in London???? Like MLT said bit strange that as they live within a couple of miles from each other why does it have to be there?

He'd better hope the meeting isn't in a wood-pannelled garage /goodfellas

Not quite what he said on twitter. He said he was in the MLT suite and security guards were outside to stop him going anywhere other than to the toilet or to his seat.

Guess what. Anyone who gets a ticket in hospitality is not allowed to wander aimlessly around the club. They only have access to the suite they are booked in and there are stewards all over the place to make sure you only leave for the toilet or for your match day seat. This is all politely explained by the hostess when you arrive. Matt was treated no differently than any other punter.

You could even say that Cortese has the highest win % of any Saints manager in history. Just hope he isn't poached by a bigger club.
