Cork at right back with Davis in the middle?

Yosh at right back ? Forren and jos cb ( are they not both left footed?)

Lallana out left Rickie in the hole and Jrod up top??

Good job we bought in those few extra players in January to cover these positions in case we had injuries

Oh wait we didn't !!!

If Clyne and Gaston are injured and out will be very interesting to see what MP goes with

Maybe Mayuka will get a run out

Absolutely terrified of what Aguero can do on the break against us with all that space behind the defence, but to be honest it will be fun to see us give it a good go and get at them. I am sure we'll have our moments. Lets just hope we minimise the amount they have.

I think we saw today when Liverpool pressed high up the pitch that Man City struggled to cope with it and it even resulted in a formation change from Mancini. So lets give it a good go and see what happens.

unfortunately, after the positive news of kompany being ruled out it seems yaya toure will be back next week..

I'll go for city leading 1-0 after a lackluster first half before we play a superb second half where we 'batter' them but create only 2 chances and score none for the game to end 1-0 to city. Mancini to say we're the best team they've played away from etihad.

Better than Real Madrid and Dortmund? We'll walk this league!

This. If we can really press them hard from the off, we can knock MC off their stride and not let them settle, but not sure we can maintain that for the whole game - if we do we will win I am sure. Yes, Aguero is a concern, but only if he is allowed the right delivery and time - cut off the supply by the early and quick pressing and he can be nullified. And please sort out the defensive tactics - either we play for off side by quick exit, or we have two men on the posts, but not a half way house.

Spurs v Newcastle

Chelsea v Wigan

Stoke v Reading

Swansea v QPR

Villa v West Ham

I think this brings me the most confidence, we probably have the toughest game but the only team there that might expect 3 points is Villa, all the rest should probably get beaten so anything from this game would be a big bonus.

I can't see us getting anything at Newcastle after the way the played against Chelsea so we could be back in the bottom 3 by March which will be a massive month for us. 3 home games, massive 6 pointer against QPR, winnable away fixture against Norwich and who knows at home to Chelsea and Liverpool. Then April where we have a decent chance of winning all our games.

Hope I won't jinx us now, but the City fans seems to have a lot of respect for us: http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=277234&start=0

Yer, I stayed with a City fan at the weekend up in Manchester, and watched the Liverpool game with him yesterday before heading home. He was saying how he thinks we'll give them a really good game and he's worried about Lambert up against their defence without Kompany. He predicted a draw. Just think we've got to be careful of their pace up front because if we play too much of a high line then Aguero will get in behind.

We'll be fine.

We have Fox & Richardson to come in...:

Posts like this frankly astound me. Fox and Richardson have both proved able deputies. We also have cork and forren to play in those positions. Then there is young and targett from the u21s. The latter of which is training with the first team this week. If you wa t to support saints, you need to have a bit of faith.

Fox & Richardson are able deputies of that there is no doubt. BUT both at the same time against Aguero & possibly Tevez??

The other U21 LB is not quite ready yet. Forren has not played for around 9 weeks - let's see if he lasts 90 in Norway's game.

Perhaps Jack Stephens is getting close and could be a call up at RB but then hasn't he played most of this season at CB?

Correct - and tried in a defensive midfield role last weekend.

This game is going to be a struggle then!

Maybe, maybe not, clubs pull players from friendly internationals for very little as a rule. Anyway England U21s wasn't a good place to be this week as Phil Jones has shingles, that's an adult form of chickenpox I think.

what is the rule about pulling out and not being able to play for your club for 5 days..?

is that just for competitive internationals...?

I don't know, you'd have to ask Man U or Arsenal supporters that, they must be real experts. I know that German clubs have pulled at least half of the players that originally made up the selection for the friendly against France tomorrow.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2273740/Daniel-Sturridge-injury-latest-Liverpool-striker-targets-West-Brom-game.html

Sturridge looking to play vs West Brom - is that because its on Monday and this doesn't break the supposed 5 day rule?

The 5 day rule only applies (or can be applied at the discretion of the national federation) if a player fails to show up without a good reason. If they have acknowledged injuries which may or may not get better by the following match the rule doesn't apply. It depends if the federation approves the reason for not accepting the selection and even then it depends if they're miffed about it..

So in Gaston's case a dead leg might prevent him from travelling to wherever it is and training or playing on Wednesday but be healed up enough to play on Saturday. Shaw turned up anyway so that depends on what he has and I don't know about Clyne. Clyne is the least of our worries anyway. Corker does a bloody good job at RB and we have Davis in reserve to replace him.

If we have Clyne and Shaw, and to a lesser extent Ramirez, I fancy our chances of getting something. Perhaps even all three points.

But if we lose either of the full backs, and especially if we lose Cork from midfield in order to cover for Clyne's absence, my optimism plummets.

The lesser issue is that Corky lacks pace at RB, because City don't quite have the speed on that flank that other teams have; skill in abundance but not so much speed. The bigger issue for me is that Cork and Schneiderlin complement each other so well in midfield, and Davis - though playing quite well recently - is no substitute for either of them.

I think we'll need to score three to beat City, though, because it's too easy to get behind Jos and City are very good at those little angled balls.
