doddisalegend Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 Vincent kompany looks set to miss City's game with us through injury and amazingly city are struggling with a lack of centre backs at the moment:scared: Javi Garcia had to fill in at centre-back againt QPR....might give Rickie a bit of an easier time http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21295478
Andre Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 Thank god. One of the best CBs this season for me.
Turkish Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 Is Toure still at the ACON? They are a much better side with him in it.
farawaysaint Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 We should still get absolutely smashed by them, frankly they probably have a couple of players more valuable than our entire squad As soon as I hear they're so injury hit they've decided to field the under 17s I'll celebrate. I don't like to celebrate someone else's injury, but can only benefit Saints (or any team that faces them in his absence). Class defender, and a good leader too. alpine_saint Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 Manyoooo are far ahead of the slummy side of their city in the table, and we just reamed their arses for the best part of an hour. Not predicting a win, but why should a draw be such a ridiculous prospect ?

Though, I still won't be too upset if we are beat (unless it's an absolute battering).

Mediocre everywhere, lucky to get a draw because the ref turned a blind eye to Remy getting tripped in the box.

As for Garcia, he is an absolute tank, he is no mug at CB either and v good in the air BUT I do agree, for me Kompany is the best CB in the world atm

Andre Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 United are better than City, so we should be hoping for a point from this game... depends on what happens this weekend as well though.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 Erm that was a dive but Silva shouldve been given a pen a little later. no it wasn't actually, the city player caught Remy's trailing foot and he went ass over tit. French commentators went on and on about it, even had slow motions and stills of Remy's foot being caught by the City defender. No doubt about it..penalty
tajjuk Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 If QPR can get a point against them at home then i don't see why we can't. Not having Toure and Kompany, two of their key players will also only help us. Yes their team is full of world class players but take two of their best away and it becomes less good. Window Cleaner Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 Watching it on MOTD it really didn't look a pen. Because he was going so flipping fast. At the speed Remy was going any touch that holds back your trailing foot will send you ass over tit. Try it sometime, sprint up the lawn at top speed and get someone to hold back that trailing foot albeit for just an instant. Defender knew what he was doing, knew the effect it would have and more importantly knew what it would look like.

SaintBobby Posted 2 February, 2013 Share Posted 2 February, 2013 QPR did it. Swansea and Everton beat them last year, they have their weaknesses in games like this. I'd be happy with 3 points from the next 2 games though. Better than 2 draws so might as well go for it in each. I'd actually prefer 2 draws rather than 3 points from losing to Wigan and beating Man City.

Pilchards Posted 2 February, 2013 Share Posted 2 February, 2013 It really depends which Southampton team turns up as I have a feeling City will find us difficult to contain.
