No more Steeeeeeeeeve

This has been a great deadline day.

It'll be officially changed to LUUUUUUKKKKKKKEEEE, killing football for ever more. Apparently the fan base hate the Beatles as they are a bunch hippies and hate the Clash for being unwashed old men ruining the chances of any of the other songs for him taking off.

No idea why people love to hate him so much. He really hasn't been any worse than some players who have had regular game time.

One of those players who comes on for 20 minutes at the end of a game and is no worse than anyone else, yet people on here talk about him as being by far our worst player because he didn't turn the game around on his own. I haven't seen anything more from say Mayuka this season, yet everyone is insistant he just needs more time and will come good. Double standards.

Hopefully he gets some decent game time (which he has never had here) and proves him worth. Maybe he will come back afterwards and prove a few people wrong.

Totally agree.

Personally I wish him luck. I don't think I've ever seen him give anything less than 100% for Saints.

It's just unfortunate that his best wasn't good enough for Saints in many people's eyes on here apart from the goal at Reading maybe.

60% of st Mary's chanting Steeeeeeve whenever he received the ball is an example of how many fans were excited by him.

Personally I'd rather have him on the bench than see Steve Davis on the pitch but then again it's all about opinions!

Christ on a bike... I've no idea why some people love to exaggerate.

'Love to hate' is a bit strong. I don't 'love to hate' any player, no matter how bad I think they are. I want every player to play for us to be a success. De Ridder just wasn't successful, and it's not as if he didn't have chances.

He was victim of unjustified hype when someone decided to dig out his YouTube compilation.

He was never going to live up to the hype surrounding his arrival but his performances were never as bad as many on this thread are making out. He won't be back after a month and will do well at any Championship level. I still remember the rubbishing of Nathan Dyer's ability when he left the Club yet he's proved many wrong.

If he can do that and also improve his finishing, dribbling, crossing & general football ability, he might be a useful player for us in the premier league

If someone can perform brain surgery on him and take out whatever makes him think 'I can take on five players at once', that'd help too.
