Well then statistically we won't be better will we. It's really close down there and we are one bad result away from being stuck again.

I said I think we are better.

Which I stand by.

Put this way, comparing the two sides starting XI, there's not really anyone from theirs I'd really want in ours.

Decent player, don't get me wrong.

But wow. That & Remy are one almighty throw of the dice. Is Remy on something like £80k p/w too?

Pompey mk II written all over it.

I forget, who did Poopey have in charge when they were flashing all that cash around again?

Deadline days are funny - everyone gets in a frenzy but rarely do any decent players move around, its all the usual suspects who nobody really wants - Bentley, Huddlestone etc. Stoke will buy a few more average players and then its all over.

with the players already having been shipped out by QPR they must have covered the wages of the new signings already so that just leaves the transfer amounts which they can probably recover most of anyway. They're putting all the possible chances of staying up on their side.

FFS we should sign all these average players at above their value, to sit on the bench.

West Ham, Reading &QPR are doing it, so should we.

Cortese out.

"Some interesting words from Toulouse president Olivier Sadran in L'Equipe about the future of France midfielder Etienne Capoue. Sadran says he has turned down a £10.3m bid from QPR because, "the club has no pressing need for money and I didn't think it was a good move for him. He felt a move to QPR could be a springboard (to a bigger club) in England. I told him if they're relegated, it could be an abyss." Sadran, meanwhile, confirmed the 24-year-old, who has also been linked with Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and PSG, will be allowed to leave Toulouse in June."

This is very true.

Cisse, Dyer, Ferdinand, Nelson?

Will that really cover Ben-Haim (lol), Remy, Samba & Suk-Young (double lol)'s wages?

Clearly French club presidents are a bit more poetic than their English counterparts.

He turned down the chance to talk to Chelsea yesterday but he might still end up in the Premier League. BBC Midlands Today understands that Stoke City have become the first club to make a formal bid for 19-year-old Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland today. No word on the fee as yet.

Sky Sports understands that Birmingham have rejected a bid of £1.5million, rising to £2m, plus a player for Curtis Davies from Norwich.

Seems odd that Birmingham have put their squad up for sale but seem to be rejecting quite a few bids for their players !?

there have been a few other outs at QPR, Faurlin would have been on a fair old whack.

Faurlin is a loan, apparently without a permanent clause.

Given the state of Italian finances at the moment, I'd be surprised if they are stumping up the full amount on wages.

QPR still after a glut of players at the moment.

The fee's you dismiss are also probably close to £25m, which is hardly insignificant.

Hmmm, this is turning into a theme of the day... a trend, even:

QPR on Twitter: "TRANSFER NEWS COMING UP!"

A lot more difficult to guess this one as QPR seem to be trying to sign anyone who has ever kicked a football, but I am going for Christopher Samba. What do you lot think?

From the BBC - made me laugh

Redknapp in early December......

New Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp claims he may not enter the transfer market in January if the club are still stranded at the foot of the Premier League.

QPR remain in search of their first league win of the season after the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in Redknapp's first home game in charge.

"If you are still adrift in January what is the point?" he said.

"If that was the case I would advise the owners not to spend their money"

Remind me again...where are QPR in the table? Why do owners let him do this? And I bet he and Rosie are getting some sort of 'commission' on every deal.
