Transfer Deadline Day Thread

It would be a crap transfer window if that was the case.

All our rivals apart from Villa have strengthened far more than we have.

******. Reading have signed nothing, Villa have signed one French U21 player and Wigan have signed Scharner and Espinoza.

Sure Newcastle and QPR have outspend us but we haven't done any worse then Wigan, Reading or Villa. Combine that with the fact that our team was better going in January we've done very well

Despite being so much better, we are a whole 3 points from 2nd from bottom

Could all be level if we lose to the mighty Wigan

Reading signed Nick Blackman, a very promising young striker from Sheffield United. Not saying he's going to fire them to safety of course but he'll be a very good player.

It moves up to 10 bookings after new years so I doubt very close.

it's 10 before the second Sunday in April I think so 9 games left not to get 3 cards, bit of a tall order, needs the defence not to be so sloppy. Situation might get better when we hoik Jos out of there and replace him with Forren (or Fonte) Cork and Davis need to up their tackling rate though.

We can't be. We are just 3 measly points ahead.

There is f-all in it. Despite villa being completely and utterly awful

This is where Adkins amazing run of no wins comes to light

Let's wait and see what the league table says at the end of the season huh, when we've actually played the exact same fixtures...

talk of transfers breaking down, I wa the middle man of a potential transfer at work, but its not happening as we cannot afford the buy out fee required to employ this individual. I assume there are buy out fees in football , I dont mean buying out the contract but an actual release fee that the future employee , club have to pay. probablythe same as the ramiriz saga with the third club

We have played the same now and right now, we are hardly miles better.

There is f-all in it. And I dread to think the impact of a defeat on sat.... I would say even a draw is points dropped now

I think we will win.

no we definitely have to take the table exactly how it stands on any given day

thats why man utd are always ****ting themselves at the start of the season because they are on equal points with stoke. It deifintely means they ARE NOT BETTER

Not heard it called that before St Garret . Aparently the said individual would hae to pay x amount to their current employer to leave their current employer. It may be specific to the EC mediterranean countrys employment laws. I must refresh my knowledge on european employment legislation

Was he on a long term contract and you wanted him before his notice period?

Happens over here too, I was on a 3 month (rolling) contract and wanted to get out early, they wanted the other employer to pay the bits that I wanted to leave early...

Quite possibly specific to countries like Spain, whereby every player is required to have a buyout clause (which they personally pay). In practice, their future club buys this out and there's a gentleman's agreement between clubs to accept offers above this threshold, as the clubs could refuse the bid and force the players to physically buyout their own contracts incurring bigger expense for the buying club as when routing the payment through the player additional taxes must be paid.

Tottenhams Andros Townsend having a medical at QPR.

Andros Townsend's proposed move to QPR is off. The Tottenham midfielder arrived at the Rs' training ground this morning only to receive a phone call to tell him that the switch to Loftus Road had been shelved.

LOL.

What you are forgetting, in November, when you thought we were already down we were bottom.

After 10 games

QPR had same points - now 7 behind (7)

Villa had 5 more - now 3 behind (8)

Wigan had 7 more - now 3 behind (10)

Reading had 2 more - now 3 behind (5)

Newcastle had 10 more - now 1 ahead (9)

LOL.

'Arry probably asked about Andy Townsend's availability. Easy mistake to make.
