Okay, there is an hour to go and based on that tweet from Sibley I can't be a**ed to update this anymore as none of it will involve Saints.

This has been such a boring window in many ways, not for us - but for football in general.

As other's have said, January isn't the month to make big signings. Panic signings, yes, but we don't need to panic.

Would have liked a wide man, but never mind. Just need to hope we keep them players fit.

No more business.

So be it, best not to spend for spending's sake if we cannot bring in anyone who could reasonably improve what we have. Based on form since November, I feel we have enough to survive.

Well we can spend and improve, we did not buy enough quality last window, this is a huge gamble.

Quite pleased with the business we've done today. Trimmed the squad a bit with an opportunity to do so more once the loan window opens. We were all told by reporters that it was likely to be a quiet window so while the mongs are out in force on Twitter we've still signed Forren who potentially seems someone who can contribute a lot.

Happy the club hasn't made any stupid panic signings, and we can all focus on getting the most out of what we've got under the new Manager. And if the second half last night is anything to go by, it is going to be quite exciting no matter what.

Guly, Lee, J-Rod and Mayuka our backup to the front four. Wow.

I see Mayuka is being written off, which doesn't make much sense. He's not exaclty played much for us.

Reminds me of the Boruc situation, written off and put on peoples released lists for not doing anything particularly wrong.

We'll only know if this is the right decision come May (obviously!). Would've liked us to have strengthened but if Poch thinks he can get the current group to improve and perform I think we have to trust his judgment. Mayuka came very highly rated and if he could get the best out of him, that would be a major boost.

Pretty stupid really, very weak squad after the first eleven.

Find it odd that we apparently have no intention to bring anyone in. Better hope no one gets injured or we could be in trouble.

Agreed.

Trouble is, we probably spent too much time planning the sacking of a manager to be sidetracked into more than one signing.

There isn't a loan window in the PL so after 11pm that's it until the summer. Not sure if there is a free agent deadline or not, but I imagine any decent ones would have been snapped up long ago

A bloke who impressed when coming in for our captain, a japanese international who has struggled to recover from injury but looked promising last year, a player who played superbly against Manchester United at Old Trafford (and our second highest scorer so far this season) and a guy who has again shown promise but not had much of a look in due to the form of others in his natural position.

Yes, a terrible situation.

Free agent deadline is March 11th-ish (I think) but loan is 11pm tonight as well as you said.

I think Stoke have pulled off a shrewd move in signing Butland for £4m, even though he's loaned back to Brum for the rest of the season.

It's only shrewd if he turns out good, he could end up the way of most "ZOMG NEXT ENGLAND NO.1'S" on the scrap heap and gets Stoke relegated next year. It also confirms what has generally been speculated that Begovic is leaving Stoke in the summer, last I heard it was to United for £15m but plenty of teams have this weird keeper strategy (we have our own unique one).

Chances are he'll take 5/6 years to get better and when he Stoke get relegated it'll turn into a bit of a mess.

GULY is alright

Jrod I agree. Looks the part

Lee???

Mayuka???

It's the midfield, we are definitely short in attackers IMO

Maybe MP will make use of mayuka. We shall see

Wide area has a big question mark over it for me, but our first choice options are bloody good to be fair - so we're lucky in that sense.

Let's just go with it. Not much we can do now.

Outside of our starting 11. We are very weak

Big gamble....

in a nutshell.

other sides have attempted to strengthen...although some have gone overboard.

it has been obvious for sometime we have very little of any quality, let alone Premiership quality,to come in to cover injuries or suspensions.

concerning to say the least,IMO.

What annoys people... Is hearing players going on about such mahoosive plans that te club have.... Champions league etc... Then we get rid of a manager for an apparent better one, then the chairman talks about top 6 in a few years

Then, nothing.....

It is so tight at the bottom... I thought we would have added a bit of quality this evening.... But nothing... Remain sceptical about our chances of survival
