We lost though, and i dont care coz we played ****ing well in the 2nd half. Im really starting to dislike alot of the "fan" base that frequent this site. Its the same ****s all the time....always picking fault. Any bloke with there head screwed on would of watched that game and said fair play lads, keep it up for the rest of the season and we will be ok. But no.......whens the next transfer.....why are we getting a loan....how much money do we really have......The chairmans a c_u_n_T, blah de ******* blah. Enjoy the footbal ffs, one day youre be dead and not one person from SFC wil give ****ing ****t, so pay your money, and enjoy what your hard earned cash has paid out for.... **** politics... and show loyalty to the club and not the over paid people preside over it. We are Southampton FC and we just showed the league leaders yet again we can play a bit.....im happy with that. absolutely agree with this
mikee Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 absolutely agree with this me too The irony is that that these people think they are the life and soul of the forum as they have nothing better to do than post on here all day when in reality 90% of what they post is drivel and they stop most other people on here from posting at all as we can't be bothered to argue the toss with a bunch of c**ts. They are slowly but surely killing this forum. That is my opinion - but how many others share it?
Cabrone Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 says it all...............what a compliment. BBC interview He's quite often nice to teams he thinks are no threat. He got the 3 points, job done. I actually look forward to the day when Ferguson snarls into the mike that he hates the sight of us and tries all his old school mind games on us. Then we'll know we are really doing something right. Not saying we didn't play well but we lost and he got the points.

Viking Warrior Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 Shame the BBC News could have said more about our performance last night , instead of going on how well United did. They didnt show much of ous performance only rooneys goals, at least they did show a bit of SAF comments,
Frank's cousin Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 I;ll classically sit on the fence on this one.... He could not really say much else as we dominated the second half, and as Cabrone says, although its 'nice' to hear, much rather he was his miserable fecker self after a defeat at our hands. A defeat is still a defeat no matter how well we play, and we need points - that said, to play that well shows we are better than our current position IMHO and that is what is dissapointing more than anything else. It also shows we have the quality to compete... but as with all sides nearer the bottom, its about playing to that level consistently. If MP can get us to show the level of the second half performanace throughout th remaining part of the season we will get points...

aintforever Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 It was a great second half performance but as for "best they have played", probably just Fergie deflecting attention away from their poor showing so I wouldn't read too much into it. I do agree with this and your previous post above though fella. Can't see how probably the best manager ever saying that about you is going to have any sort of negative effect. If we can play like that at Old Trafford, then there is no reason we can't repeat such performances anywhere in this division. It's not even a fluke when you consider the Stamford Bridge performance. doddisalegend Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 While it's all very nice for fergie to say that (and his team won so he can afford to be magnanimous) would people rather not be labeled the "worst team to play at OT this season " but walk away with three points? A good performance by the team always helps to soften a loss but football is a numbers game and we need points.....

sandwichsaint Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 Typical Fergie mind games - he knows his team got lucky last night and it costs nothing for him to say some warm words for the plucky losers. He'll know more than anyone that Cithee have a tricky looking away at Saints coming up and anything he says to boost us and unsettle them can only be to his good. I'm sure he did admire our performance from the comfort of his 3 points but he looked pretty agitated for most of the second half, bet we wouldn't have got this comment if we'd drawn 2-2, or even won it! Beeb gave us a very good report driving home on 5 Live last night and we also had a very positive summary on the Today programme this morning at 6-30 and 7-30, bloody BBC and their anti-Saints agenda. jjsaint Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 Nice compliment, but knowing Fergie perhaps it is also a little dig at Arsenal/Liverpool? A bit like Poyet's gushing praise for Reading but a shade more subtle?
Toadhall Saint Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 The bigger picture is we lost. Getting hysterical about a bit of pressure in the 2nd half is myopic. Let's get the facts right. Even Reading managed a point tonight. Well **** off and support them then. I'm not happy we got beat by one of the best teams in the world but I'm happy that we didn't buckle and that we took the game to them in a way that hardly any do at OT. I'll take Fergies comments as high praise from a man that is seen by a lot of accomplished managers as a go to person when they need advice. Cestrian Saint Posted 31 January, 2013 Share Posted 31 January, 2013 Wake up! Fergie is the master of mind games. If Saints had got a draw or a win he wouldn't have said that. He'd be looking for excuses or blaming the ref. he always compliments the sides that they beat. It's a sideways swipe at clubs like Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Anybody who believes he said that as a genuine compliment to Saints is sadly mistaken.

tpbury Posted 1 February, 2013 Share Posted 1 February, 2013 two magnanimous-es in one thread, realised I have never spelled this word right! Anyway, it does feel like a friendly tousling of the plucky loser's hair and in turn get's on my wick a bit. And we do need to win at Wigan, which reminds me of the home game... I'm of the same opinion. It cost him nothing to compliment us, in fact it made them look better for coming away with the points despite our better match stats, apart that is from the one that really counts, the score. So we get praise from him and the TV pundits and then they reiterate that it is the mark of a great team that they fashioned a win even when they don't play as well as they are capable of. My main concern though, is that for all that we were devastating in the second half, (apart from punishing them with goals), we were nothing special in the first half. And that has been typical of us in many games this season, that we have only shone in one half of matches.

His was visibly angry in the post match interviews about the way we sat back after the opening goal and let them push us around. I'm pretty sure the players will know that the honeymoon is over and what's expected of them this afternoon.
david in sweden Posted 2 February, 2013 Share Posted 2 February, 2013 I rarely hear Ferguson complimenting anyone except his own players, and defending them at all costs. It would have been hard for him not to have to complimented us for that performance, especially when you consider he had to put on his best defenders to shore them up at the back in order to hold out. Although he got the points, it must have worried him that other Euro clubs were able to see the way to deal with his " super-team "
