Apparently.

We'll be the best team to get relegated next.

Don't you get embarrassed by the crrrrap you summon on here time and time again?

Pathetic.

OPPOSITION MANAGER saying we're the best they've played all season, and that's the best you can muster...

Feel sorry for you you absolute turnip!

I am happy with the performance we have made Everton and Man Utd, look poor in our last 2 games, if we can carry this form on and play like this VS wigan we will come away with 3 points, lets be honest we were never gonna win at OT, specially after city drew last nite, lets be happy the lads are carrying on the good form adkins managed to get going and there responding well to the new manager, the future is bright, were going to play like that vs poorer teams were gonna get points on the board.

We lost. This does not make me want to **** myself silly. Just shows what a small club mentality fans like you have. We're aspiring to top four now, not 2-1 defeats.

But still no respect from utd fans who claimed that utd were ****e and they were being pushed back in their own half by "relegation candidates". Who do they think they are? They get a lucky three points yet fail to acknowledge that we were all over them and probably played the best football they've seen for some time. Get over yourselves you arrogant ******s!

What a buch if negative *****s we have on here. Saints just performed brilliantly against the best team in the league and We have a bunch of numpties moaning about the fact we didn't get a point; sometimes you just have to look at the bigger picture. Is it really that difficult?

Oh, apparently it is...

It certainly is for some of the "characters" on this forum.

The bigger picture is we lost. Getting hysterical about a bit of pressure in the 2nd half is myopic. Let's get the facts right. Even Reading managed a point tonight.

did you expect to get a result? Was that no you said? Ok then pls acknowledge a great second half where we were unlucky then move on...Reading were lucky....

No, I expected a defeat. That's why I am relaxed, rather than singing from the roof tops about how awesome we are because we lost.

So everything is black & white in your world is it?

I'd much prefer to be here discussing a win or a well deserved draw. But I can also see that we put up a great performance & deserved something from the game tonight.

SAF commented on how well we played "BEST TEAM AT OLD TRAFFORD THIS SEASON" his own words, no one is f**king themselves silly over it just most seem able to appreciate a good confidence boosting performance by the team!

No points is no points. You don't get plus one for trying. The plucky little Southampton tag is nothing to be proud of. It's the sort of weight that hangs from our necks like facepaints, fancy dress and thermos flasks at half times. Football is about winning. We sacked Atkins because we weren't winning. Let's not get too carried away in celebrating yet another defeat which edges us closer to relegation.

Lets not forget where we were. Still first season back in top flight and comparing this performance to the likes of a Six One defeat at Arsenal shows how we've progressed. Lets take pride in that second half showing and ok yes we lost but ffs they are top of the league and no team has had 21 shots at OT since Man City won there 6 1.

His name was Adkins you f***ing moron. Seriously mods, why do you allow obvious WOM's like this weapon a voice on here? Fair play we lost, but only someone that doesn't understand football (or lives a weird, sad lonely life and gets off on winding people up on the Internet) could fail to see it was a superb performance from our lads tonight. We played the champions elect off the park, unlucky not to score a second and a manager who I have a huge grudging respect for (and is the most successful in World football ever) comes out and says we were superb and deserved something from the game. Sotonjoe you are a pr**k mush, I hope you spend your life on here rather than at games as I'd hate to be in the trenches with such a pussy as you. Man up ya moaning old Doris.

But it wasn't a plucky battling performance as such. It was some decent football, away to one of the best teams in Europe, that probably deserved something.

Just seen your last post- Wow - what a lfe

If we beat Wigan, tonight's performance will be seen a 'epic'. If we lose against Wigan, I'm sure people will be questioning why we can play like that against the best team in England but not against 'lowly' Wigan.

Irrespective, when Sir Alex said that I squealed loudly with delight. I'm not a massive fan of his, but you have to respect him for what he's achieved. One point for Pochettino in two games, but already the signs look promising. Beating Wigan is a MUSTthough - and a draw is not good enough.

The last time a newly promoted side won at Old Trafford was in 2001. Let's get some perspective here. We knew we were going to lose this one and we kept the goal difference respectable, got a big compliment fropm Fergie and generally did alright. Looking at the bigger picture, pretty good I reckon.

Pah!! What does he know!! He would of looked for excuses if we had won, i know that. We lost though, and i dont care coz we played ****ing well in the 2nd half. Im really starting to dislike alot of the "fan" base that frequent this site. Its the same ****s all the time....always picking fault. Any bloke with there head screwed on would of watched that game and said fair play lads, keep it up for the rest of the season and we will be ok. But no.......whens the next transfer.....why are we getting a loan....how much money do we really have......The chairmans a c_u_n_T, blah de ******* blah. Enjoy the footbal ffs, one day youre be dead and not one person from SFC wil give ****ing ****t, so pay your money, and enjoy what your hard earned cash has paid out for.... **** politics... and show loyalty to the club and not the over paid people preside over it. We are Southampton FC and we just showed the league leaders yet again we can play a bit.....im happy with that.

Even though we played a mostly brilliant second half of the game we still got no points from it. Off course it is nice of SAF to praise our efforts but in the end it means nothing. If we lose to Wigan (heaven forbid) we are probably back in the relegation zone and no matter how much the opponents praise our way of playing it dont automatically translates to us getting points in the table,

Lots of fans seems to be all over the moon after last nights performance, and rightfully so, but it is at games like at Wigan away we REALLY have to play brilliant, and also score when we get our opportunities.
