We still lost and i felt we didn't get the ball into the area quick enough at times, always wanting to play it into the box when Lambert caused them chaos when we got it into him. Although that is two games against United we've narrowly lost and we've been the better side in both of them and arguably could and probably should have won them both. We were excellent second half though and United were clinging on a bit.

On reflection, a draw would probably been a fair result. Although, it was united that had the better chances and looked more threatening when near the goal. They have that little bit of craftsmanhip and quality that we don't (no surprise really). Too often we end up chucking it in to Ricky rather than being patient. Oh well, good night if we can match United from where we've come from.

It's happening baby!!!!!

Pochettino has Saints playing a very high pressing game when the opposition have the ball in defence. Very risky, but on countless occasions Utd gave the ball away when pressured by packs of Saints players in United's half or the Utd defence lumped it long. We won't go down playing like this, as long as we finish our chances.

Whilst proud of the performance - At 2-1, Man U had the luxury of inviting us forward, and hoped to spring a counter attack. For large parts of the game they had 8 or 9 players behind the ball. Still great to watch, I love Lambert but I wish we had a bit more flair up front.

Pochettino seemed to nail all 3 subs as well, changed the dynamics of our play.

I went into this game expecting nothing - no points - no satisfaction. OK, we got no points, but I got huge satisfaction seeing my team outplay Utd's mega-£m's team for a large proportion of the game. I'm proud of that performance and after just one week in charge, our new Manager is definately starting to make a difference. Of course the Cortese haters will be out in force too, trying to find the negatives.

Only a c**t wouldn't be impressed with the 2nd half & understand that it's the cornerstone and the confidence it will give the players for the battles ahead.

Oh my god! How could anybody who watched that game come away feeling negative about Southampton football club? One of the best away performances you will see an old Trafford, Full stop! We Absolutely dominated the second half and the full time stats show we had a Close to 60% of the possession at old Trafford for gods sake!

Never been so proud of Saints at Old Trafford..

My son-in-law is a Utd fan and said that he was relieved to come away with the 3 points tonight !

Reckons that we are one of the few teams that were not afraid to have a go at Old Trafford where they hardly ever drop any points !

With 21 shots on goal, we can never be accused of being negative, that's for sure !
