Thedelldays Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 0-0 at QPR...FT Ceasar is keeping them semi alive...awesome saves again
Sour Mash Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 If 'arry ad bin a jockey he would have been warned off years ago. Seems to look on football as his own personal fiefdom / cash machine. Are there no longer 'any' rules about fielding your strongest side? This is a complete disrespect to the fans / other teams / the game. Wot a complete ****. I can't stand Redknapp, but what's he done wrong there?
Bananaman Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 0-0 at QPR...FT Ceasar is keeping them semi alive...awesome saves again Semi alive? they are only 4 points adrift.. very much still alive for me
S-Clarke Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Villa lose, they're in a bad place right now - although that 2nd half was decent.
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Villa 1-2 Toon. What an awful week for Villa.
Wiggles31 Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 QPR will still go down I think. A hideously bloated squad. They need to hit CL form to come above us.
Minsk Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 QPR are a fekin lucky team. How Citeh didn't score is beyond me. Plus, they should have had a pen and Remy should have had a yellow for a very obvious dive. Oh well, drawing matches isn't going to help them too much. Still think they will go down with Villa and one other.
Thedelldays Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Semi alive? they are only 4 points adrift.. very much still alive for me they need top 6 form at the very least till end of the season to stay up....draws are not the most useful in their position....
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 they need top 6 form at the very least till end of the season to stay up....draws are not the most useful in their position.... Do they? Because the last time I checked they were only 4 points off 17th...
Thedelldays Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Do they? Because the last time I checked they were only 4 points off 17th...yep they do....that is to get 38 points......
Saint Charlie Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Good that none of our proper rivals won, shame QPR and Wigan got points but wins are what do the damage.
Thedelldays Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 saturday is so massive...lose that and...OH DEAR...
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 So many teams still involved...don't think they need that much of a turn around. Draws against WHU, Spurs, City and a win at Chelsea....if they beat Reading, Wigan and us, I think they'll stay up.
Red Alert Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 My god, getting 6 points between us and Wigan on Saturday would be huge.
St Marco Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Villa into the drop zone then. In their next 4 games they have Arsenal and Everton away and Man Citeh at home. Think they are gone if they keep Lambert.

Draws against WHU, Spurs, City and a win at Chelsea....if they beat Reading, Wigan and us, I think they'll stay up.well, to get 38 points, they are going to have to match evertons/arsenals form for the rest of the season.........
LGTL Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Yep, it's all about Saturday. Tomorrow is a bonus game at best.
S-Clarke Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Good that none of our proper rivals won, shame QPR and Wigan got points but wins are what do the damage. Wasn't a bad set of results all told. Bonus game for us tomorrow.
Andre Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 If QPR can get a point against City, no reason we can't get a point against United.
Saint_clark Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 My god, getting 6 points between us and Wigan on Saturday would be huge. There could be 6 points between us tomorrow yet If QPR can get a point against City, no reason we can't get a point against United. Was waiting for someone to post that.
Jack Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 QPR have learnt how not to lose, but rarely look like winning. Not too worried about them. I still think we'll be fine because the current bottom 3 are considerably worse than us. That said, tough games coming up. Wigan came back from 2-0 down at Stoke to get a point, probably could have been all 3.
S-Clarke Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Villa into the drop zone then. In their next 4 games they have Arsenal and Everton away and Man Citeh at home. Think they are gone if they keep Lambert. I think they'll struggle whoever they have as manager. Their squad is just not good enough Players like Bannan, Baker, Westwood, Lowton, Bennett - shouldn't be playing PL football. But they seem to equate to Villa's spine, which is why they're so screwed.
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 The rest of their games.... February 2: Norwich (H) February 9: Swansea (A) February 23: Manchester United (H) March 2: Southampton (A) March 9: Sunderland (H) March 16: Aston Villa (A) March 30: Fulham (A) April 6: Wigan (H) April 13: Everton (A) April 20: Stoke (H) April 27: Reading (A) May 4: Arsenal (H) May 12: Newcastle (H) May 19: Liverpool (A) I'd be quietly confident if I was them, definitely not writing it off yet. Bolds are definitely winnable and a few points here and there....Wigan did it last season IIRC?
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I know Wigan are our rivals but I'm not that bothered that they picked up a point tonight, Football managed to beat Rugby in the second half anyway. That said, Saturday's game is huge. Get anything at Old Trafford tomorrow and we will be delighted. QPR may have drawn against City but at the end of the day, it's just one point.

S-Clarke Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Go 13th if we win tomorrow.... Only if Norwich and Fulham both lose.
Minsk Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 So many teams still involved...don't think they need that much of a turn around. Draws against WHU, Spurs, City and a win at Chelsea....if they beat Reading, Wigan and us, I think they'll stay up. That's more wins than they have managed all season thus far.
Thedelldays Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Only if Norwich and Fulham both lose. Lets be honest, we will probably lose tomorrow. Saturday is such a huge game
S-Clarke Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Lets be honest, we will probably lose tomorrow. Saturday is such a huge game Tommorow is a bonus to me. Kind of treating it like a Friendly warm-up for Saturday! We could do with a win on Sat, but even a draw would be decent IMO. Nothing wrong with a point away in the PL.

aintforever Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 QPR are very much still in it, a couple of wins and it can soon change around.
Minsk Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 The rest of their games.... Bolds are definitely winnable and a few points here and there....Wigan did it last season IIRC? IMO, you didn't highlight their most winnable game - Villa. But in any case, I really can't see them winning many. The only reason they have picked up so many draws is a combination of luck (which will run out soon, hopefully) and Cesar - who is simply world class.
sandwichsaint Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I can't stand Redknapp, but what's he done wrong there? Total ****take. Do people pay a lot of money to watch football to see a manager name 3 gks in a 17 man squad? He has clearly weakened his own team with this selection, how does this play out with every other team in the league if it does go on to influence the result? In this case it didn't but should he be playing club politics with every other team's future? PS Please feel free to ignore A Pardew away v Swindon!
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Just to compare....this is the table after 24 games last season.
Doctoroncall Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I see Nelson is off to Toronto now, is something happening to Hill?
Appy Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Go 13th if we win tomorrow.... You've got me dreaming now.
Micky Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Lets be honest, we will probably lose tomorrow. Saturday is such a huge game We are Southampton, we'll probably win tomorrow and lose at Wigan - it's what we do...!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 We are Southampton, we'll probably win tomorrow and lose at Wigan - it's what we do...! Id take that 110 persaint
CB Fry Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Just to compare....this is the table after 24 games last season. QPR need to do a Wigan then. I think they will run out of games, and still go down. If we do the near-impossible tomorrow and win we are pretty much home, if not quite dry.
Flyer Posted 30 January, 2013 Posted 30 January, 2013 QPR closed the gap on 17th while playing Chelsea, Spurs, WHU and Man City. Not bad. Rumours are Samba, Crouch, Rolando, Capoue are coming. As for the bloated squad, Harry had to name 2 keepers on the bench after one of the players relatives died today and he pulled out. We dont need top 6 form, we need 2 more wins than the teams above us.

SaintBobby Posted 30 January, 2013 Posted 30 January, 2013 (edited) If we end up finishing behind QPR, we probably deserve to go down. Although their form has improved, they really shouldn't catch us. I am now starting to believe that at least 3 teams will finish behind us.... Edited 30 January, 2013 by SaintBobby

Which may well keep you up in 17th ...yes, you will need top 6 form from now on. Unless you think the rest of us are going to roll over for you???

Harry is just doing his standard 'the players are ****, everyone feel sorry for me, chairman I need more players'
