Tadanari Lee on his way?

another case of a player being injured therefore he must be sh*t. if he goes he goes, not the end of the world, but would have liked to at least seen what he was capable of in the Premier League given a run of games.

The problem for Lee is not playing. He probably wants to be part of the Japan set up for the next WC but if he's not playing he won't get a look in with them because they have some decent players (but not Havenaar who replaced him). Suspect he's pretty miffed about the whole situation with us tbh. If he thinks the new manager will treat him as badly as the last one then he'll ask for a move sooner than later. New Japanese season starts in about March I think so I'd expect the situation to become clearer before then. Gives us a bit of time yet though.

Agree with some on here. Showed plenty of potential last season, not much this year.

Could do with a good run of first team games to find his form, not likely to happen here.

Out on loan would be ideal, we wont get a big fee for him and, depending who you believe, he was either free or rather cheap so no great financial hit!

Wasn't his contract discussed on here before he signed?

Seem to recall it being around 20k p/w.

about 16K a week in the NPC, 800K per annum, think it was for 2 and a half years. Was on his website I think, something like that.

Probably a whole lot more than some of our "star" players at that time. Probably at least twice what Morgan or Fonte were getting for about a quarter of the end product.

I find that highly unlikely.

Another player who has the raw talent needed to easily outshine Lambert the Carthorse, but who the footballing 'experts' aren't willing to play. It beggars belief.

Considering you're posting on a Southampton FC Forum that has a picture of Lambert at the top alongside other playing legends, I don't think your 'beliefs' are going to be shared by many.

Especially considering, and I'll bite here and point out the 'carthorse' has scored 10 goals in the Premier League this season, making him the joint highest English scorer...

Not surprised.

Signed mostly for commercial reasons (add all the fan base stuff the fact he was still a national hero for scoring the only and winning goal in the Asian Nations Cup final a year before), showed he actually had talent, got injured and maybe the lack of adaptation didn't help his recovery process. I doubt he will be successful for us so it's probably better for him to go back to Japan and get his career going again.

He comes across as an very, very soft version of Anders Svensson. Two players who are technically gifted and all-round really good players but seem to have soft and shy personalities, which means that they are only likely to show their absolute, full potential in their comfort zone (i.e.home countries).

It's simply not true. They count him as being Korean.
