For me he was a decent player who did a good job for us and seems a genuinely nice lad.

 

Would have done a great job in L1 for us but IMO wouldn't have been a first choice starter last season with the midfield we had and wouldnt make our match day squad now - similar scenario to the likes of Chaplow.

 

Always felt he lacked pace to play out wide, and a bit of strength and off the ball aggression to play centre mid - still not sure he has ever nailed down a first choice position.

 

Will have a good career though - and will probably leave Norwich in the summer.

Someone I know personally as I have connections with his secondary school. Lovely bloke and really intelligent. Would have been a success in whatever he decided to do and will almost certainly get a decent career after football. Laura Howard his partner is also lovely too. A good role model for youngsters to look up to.

Good solid player, probably at his absolute peak about now. But certainly no more than a decent squad player with our options.

Surman was a good player, never really nailed down a position though which will probably go against him throughout his career.

Definitely the former for me, wouldn't mind seeing him back as he'd definitely be a decent squad player

Good player. Don't think he'd get in our starting XI now but better back up than Chaplow, even though I like Chappers as a player.
