NickG Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 A few weeks ago you said we had a league one squad. Make up your mind FFS. Why do you want every thread to break down into childish bickering? You can't be that thick not to follow these threads surely? Either you are thick, or lying to provoke excitement in your life. In case you are struggling, I never said we had a league 1 standard side. I have been one of few saying all season that we are good enough to be clear of relegation battle before end of the season. What I did say, try and follow, is that a squad that was playing in league 1 months ago needs more spending to be competitive compared with established premiership sides. Hence side I listed has 5 new signings. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 Think we still need at least a winger and possibly another defender who is versatile as if Clyne and Shaw were injured for any period of time I think we would get relegated. We have to bear in mind what our relegation rivals are doing and the majority look like thet are seriously strengthening their squads like Newcastle,QPR and Reading. Our bench is weak and if we pick up a few injuries we could be in serious trouble. That's just my opinion that a couple of players to provide options are needed even if coming in on loan

They've been linked with Ince...that's it. I think Harry thought he could go all out and buy lots of ''big players'' for ''big money'' - but it's not as easy as he thought, as the club is very unattractive if we're honest. They've only signed 1 player of note as yet.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 Wigan haven't done anything either yet, and Ramis has got injured, and they've got rid of Boselli. Villa have done nothing too, I shouldn't worry yourselves ladies and gents !

Itll be a busy final week, as per usual

The only team, perhaps in the whole league, that's really strengthened well is Newcastle - annoyingly as they had the potential to slip in the mire. They're not safe yet, the new players have to gel, but at least they all speak the same language so communication shouldn't be a problem. Deadline day will be interesting - not least because it's obvious to everyone that Villa desperately need experience. I can see a few last minute deals floating around. If Reading don't strengthen theey're down too, and hopefully their recent couple of wins will blind them into seeing their current squad as good enough. It's not. QPR also will be looking for deadline day deals - especially as Harry's in charge. We'd be foolish not to try and bring someone else in, as I can see each of Villa, QPR and perhaps even Wigan bringing player/s in.
Olallana Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 wait a minute now.... are we discussing football here? really....??
Saint Garrett Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 Think reading villa and Wigan will all need to strengthen to give themselves a chance.qpr have the talent as long as they turn up. Norwich need a goal scorer and west ham a few, especially if they lose diame. Can't see Fulham doing much. Likelihood is those 3 will be fine though
Monk Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 We will bring in at least one player. A loam from La Liga potentially.
Avenue Saint Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 I still feel we need a winger if I'm honest. There's no competition behind Puncheon and Lallana what so ever, that worries me. Guly has done a good shift out there to his credit, but I'd love more options down the flanks in terms of pace. We don't really have the ability to change it in the wide area's from the bench, what we start with is pretty much what we've got. CB is ok now, Forren looks like a talent. Fonte has proven himself alongside Yoshida to be competent at this level. Luke Shaw has fixed left back single handily, and Boruc has at last proven we have a capable keeper without needing to panic buy in that position this month. So all in all - 1 more signing, an attacking wide player with pace. Totally this.
SuperSAINT Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 I'd take Ince in a heartbeat. I notice Matt Phillips made his return to the Blackpool XI yesterday. Holloway again mentioned how Oyston denied him his move to the prem in the summer today as well.

Ignoring the fact we've spent £20m since promtion from L1 on players that can't get a game and that the only one of our squad from then that handnt played above L1 was Lambert. If you can't remember your own posts then you must be thick or too embarrassed by them to want to remember them.
UpweySaint Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 I don't get the De Ridder hate by some on here - seems he's the new Guly. Yet he has hardly had the chance to prove himself, has not done too badly when appearing and is one of the few players with genuine pace. Mayuka has been no better IMO. We do need a very capable and adaptable attacking wide man though. No hate, just a realistic acceptance that he may not be good enough. Didn't look class in the league below and hasn't done much this season. I admit he is not terrible and has not done anything majorly wrong but he doesnt do anything to turn a game either. Runs well but how often does he beat a man then run out of ideas?
NickG Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 Making things up again. Find the thread. It was purely about money spent in summer does not tell the whole story, ie we spent a lot but had lower starting level (as in financial value of squad) compared the teams established in the top flight. Not sure why you feel need to derail every thread, particularly with made up stories? My last response on your trolling, hopefully you can allow those who can discuss football to do so? scotty Posted 27 January, 2013 Share Posted 27 January, 2013 And Mayuka. Lots have written him off already, but he is only 22 and hardly been given a chance yet. He turned the game towards us playing on the right in a 4-2-3-1 vs Tottenham. Thats a very good point. Somebody on here recently suggested that he hadn't been played much because the ACON was imminent, and there was no point settling him into the side before that. It will be interesting to see what happens when he gets back, he looks a really promising player.
