****ing hell i go back to the previous point who the **** lets a goalkeeper take a pen. Jon Obi must feel like a ****.

There have been a few, to be honest - Chilavert of Paraguay used to take free-kicks too ! And it was one of the best pens I've ever seen, so they obviously knew what they were doing.

Ref is approximately the same standard as the teams then. And the pitch for that matter.

Just seen him shaking hands with the Zambian keeper at the end of the match. He is about 7 ft tall and looks like the hardest of the 3 Ktitchko brothers.

No wonder no-one complained about that absurd penalty decision.

If anyone's still paying attention, Sunzu is the guy linked with Reading (funnily enough pre-Pochettino I thought he might be an option for us). Plays for TP Mazembe, the DR Congo side that got to the World Club Championship Final a couple of years ago.

And as I type this they reel all of that off on commentary. :(

I think he's actually signed for Reading pre ACON.

Meanwhile the Burkina Faso goalkeeper gets sent off after deciding to pick the ball up 3 yards outside his penalty area, 5 minutes after trying to dribble it round a Ethiopian striker who so nearly intercepted it.

Not quite as ridiculous as the Ethiopian keeper getting sent off the other day for doing a kung fu kick on a Zambian striker but rather amusing all the same.

told you, a lot of it is commercial houses league standard. There are some good players in most of the teams but there are some god-awful ones as well. Mali for instance, one of their players has p*ssed off back to Corsica because he thought he should be playing more, won't get a game at Bastia either but hey he's a star right.

Used to like the CAN when you had god teams like Cameroun and the old Nigerian sides but since Eurpean nations have filched all their best players it's nowhere near the old standard. Played too often as well.

TBH the bloody awful goalkeepers are one reason why I watch the tournament
