Do we need a Campaign for red and white stripes and black shorts

I'd like to have a campaign to use the white away kit again next season. It's been such a rampaging success this season that a repeat for 2013-14 should surely be the aim of any right-thinking Saints fan.

But with 99.9% of fans already owning a white away kit (what with it being the fastest selling white away kit for the 2012/13 season of all time) they wouldn't get many more sales would they?

That's indeed a very good point which I hadn't considered. And what with making sure that the de facto away kit for this season, the yellow one, is not actually on sale, the club would clearly be looking to maximise shirt sales. I need to rethink my campaign.

This entire thread sounds like implied criticism of Cortese.

I'd like to know what you people criticising are going to do about this.

Are you planning a march?

A sit in protest?

Hijack a Leibherr crane, paint it red and white and drive it to Berne?

I'll take it as a given that you will never go to another game.

Any criticism of the current board must be backed up with clear demonstrable action, preferably incorporating violence. Otherwise you are just moaners with no conviction.

True Saints fans with conviction think everything Cortese has ever done is brilliant.

I neither pro nor anti. There is a massive grey area where we can decided on each thread and criticse or praise dependialong in the thread. Most normal people realise this.

I want to campaign against any grey areas on the kit whatsoever please. That would be sh1t and would indicate that Turskatish was correct all along in his hate of Cortese.

We are planning to wave hankies at the next home game but SISA have not announced whether the hankies should be white, red, red & white, white & red or grey. I understand they are holding a poll amongst their membership and the results will be known in 4 days when they have finished counting. They can only manage to count one vote a day.

The Cult of Cortese will also be protesting about anything anti Cortese. It will of course be a very short protest because the Cult only exists in certain people's minds and there is nothing that Cortese could possibly do wrong to warrant such a protest.

Wasn't there a thread a while back with loads of statistics telling us how team who play in red are more successful? Who can remember all the scientific research and stats about this?

I dunno bout Scientific Datas but when you has two local rivals the team who picks red always ends up more bigger and successful:

Man Utd > Man City

Arsenal > Tottenham

Liverpool > Everton

Southampton > Portsmouth

Bristol City > Bristol Rovers

Erm. Think thats bout it.

Yes there was, and it's basically a load of guff. If you take the number of teams who wear red compared to other colours and work out their level of success, it's actually lower than wearing other colours. Even though there are lots of successful red teams, there are also lots of unsuccessful ones.

I'm not linking the bleeding document again, even though it's in my favourites. ;)

Last two years the kit worked well. The sash was for good historic reasons and last year the retention of extra white when the stripes came back worked like a transitional phase back from the sash. But the move to predominently red has made the team not look like the Saints. No doubt marketing considerations will carry the most weight for next season, one of which will be that the kit will be changed again. Hopefuilly it will be to stripes but I doubt that the views of the fans will be a factor in the decision.
