Those who disagree with MLT.....

I don't want them to sort anything out. I grown to love the digs and the spats and the bad mouthing and the whole damn bull that goes with it. The animosity between the current chairman and ex players, of whom MLT seems the loudest (presumably because he's the most high profile) is all part of the soap opera of Premier League football. It provides terrific entertainment and minutes of distracted fun, such as the mirth that comes from reading heart wrenching posts on here from people imploring them to sort out any differences, as if any bad feeling is some wretched family crisis. Great stuff. Long may it continue.

Why is that even a relevant question? I've already said that the club does many good things; you make it out that I'm clamouring for a change of leadership.

Some people would actually like a change in leadership. I think MLT, Lawrie et al would like that as well. Otherwise, what's the point in all this?

I actually don't know the reason why MLT has such a problem with him, so much so that he's prepared to cast doubt over our leadership to a huge audience on a consistent basis? I understand that it may be about the bizarre story regarding Benali's house amongst other things but then it seems to be tit for tat from there.

Whatever the reason, it had better be reasons for the true good of the club for it to be worth muddying the clubs reputation in the press consistently.

A lot of Matt's feelings are (I imagine) personal. Ways that he has been treated, and ways that his close friends and former colleagues have been treated by the club. If you knew about the appalling treatment the ex-Saints have consistently received then you might understand a little how much former players have been marginalised. I know bits of it, and what I know not very nice and seemingly very personal.

Also the Pinnacle thing. For some reason MLT hasn't seemed to accept full culpability for his role in that. Even in his book he dressed it up and stated that his consortium "couldn't quite get over the line"; so I imagine that plays a part of it, and having his nose rubbed in it likely hurts him more than it would seem.

At the end of the day, you can bet that (his obvious bias aside) MLT knows one hell of a lot more about the running of this club than anyone on this message board. So, while it may not be palatable for some to hear his constant bleatings, he has a right to make them and I actually welcome them. Indeed I wish he would consistently be more specific; if he's going to criticise I'd rather hear exactly why rather than "Nicols is a nasty man and it'll all come out one day" which I agree doesn't do him any favours.

I completely agree with your last point Krackers, but have to say that I never really learn much from each little outburst. As a Saints fan I'd like him to come out and tell us about real concerning issues like if NC was leading us into a financial abyss or looking to sell off all our best players for a bit of profit etc.

Honestly, I guess I just don't really care enough about Benalis house etc to spend my efforts getting worked up about it.

This is the salient observation for me. Even whether you agree or disagree with MLT coming out with these 'digs' in public, the fact of the matter is that he doesn't actually say anything that further enlightens his audience.

So, I don't think the problem is the fact he says stuff per se, it's the 'nudge nudge wink wink' delivery that probably winds people up most.
