If we were looking to buy, SRL, Jason and Morgan now?

Who would pay anything more than £1m for Punch, when you can have him for free in the summer? I would have him at £2.5-3m max anyway.

Morgan would be expensive. If Jordan Henderson goes for £20m, I would say well over £10m, maybe higher.

SRL is difficult, due to his age. I would expect around £6m could tempt a club to sell? It would depend on whether the player was agitating for the move I guess.

Jack Cork would be a lot more than we paid for him as well.

Taking the question as it was asked, not about the value generally of our players, but what we would expect to pay for them if they played for, say Norwich or Sunderland, and they had performed exactly as they have now (Lambert 10 goals, Schneiderlin ever present, etc)

I'd say

Lambert: £5m, We'd be buying somebody to score goals this and hopefully next season, that they probably didn't want to sell and we'd be lucky to get much for in two years. 4m if they were happier to sell him. Realistically, what would we expect to pay for Holt, as he was last season, if we lost Ricky? I don't mean Holt's as good as RL, but I think that's the sort of player we're talking about.

Schneiderlin: £10m sounds about right, no other team would want to sell their most influential midfielder and it's a valuable position. He might be slightly lower because he hasn't had a whole PL season and isn't an international.

Puncheon: Fast winger with a bit of creativity, although sometimes lacks the end product he will score a few. Would lose a bit of value due to history of bad attitude. I'd say about £5-6m, but you never know, many would've been happy to release him last summer.

Schneiderlin has to be well over £10m, partly as he comes up as homegrown (thank's to us buying him in at the age of 18 ) so to the premier league teams squad registration he is gold! If Henderson got £20m mostly for being homegrown (and apparently good) it should set some sort of president that good homegrown (and young) talent should be at least 50% more, so £30m I value him at.

Lambert £6m, can't pay more for him because of his age and lacking that turn in pace that most strikers "need" in the prem....

Punch 50p. Well £3m really, too inconsistent to be a big transfer.

Cork should have been valued at £8-9m when he left Chelsea (not £650k) and now should be another £30m like Schneiderlin really. (and should be in the England squad like Morg should be in the France squad)

Some of you are nuts. Nobody would pay more than £2m for a journeyman striker who is over 30 for a start. Punch is worth nothing because he is out of contract, if that situation were to change he would be worth over £6m based on his form in the EPL. Morgan is priceless to be fair, if anyone wanted to buy him it would be crazy money, he is that good.

Morgan has about 18 months left on his current contract. In the summer that'll be just the season so the situation might need urgent attention then. Got a feeling he might have ambitions for Rio so if he doesn't think he's in the selector's eye by the summer then he may want to move on.
