chocco boxo Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 From other Premiership clubs what sort of money do you think they be worth or asked for them? SRL , 8 million , Jason 6 million, Morgan 7 million? All hypothetical !!
pangy Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 8 Mill for SRL is pushing it imo,he is in his 30's now,I reckon you would get 3-4 tops,he is not a long term investment really 1-2 seasons left in him at the top? still priceless to us though
Jai27 Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 I'd be surprised if we were offered 8mil for Rickie considering his age but stranger things have happened! I'd say Morgan sounds spot on as would Punch's be so long as he signs a new contract...
dronskisaint Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 You really think anyone would want to part with them? FWIW I think You're high on Ricky (only down to his age), about right on Puncheon and low on Morgan. Underlines why we should not be a selling club any more though. Saint Garrett Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Morgan would be worth £10m+ IMO. He's superb

saintrich Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 I'd say they were worth: Morgan = £8m Lambert = £4m Puncheon = £2m Not sure how much clubs would ask.
angelman Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Punch is out of contract in the summer, so £2m is way too much let alone £6m.
Avenue Saint Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Punch at least 5m Rickie 8m (a lot more if not for age) Morgan: 10m at least
sussexsaint Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 4m for Rickie is insane !
Bearsy Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 As good as Ricky and Punch have been for us this year if they weren't already here we wouldn't be looking to buy them IMO. Don't fit our current recruitment strategy, being neither foreign nor overhyped wonderkids.
CWD Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Rickie: £4m Punch: £4m (although likely to be around £2m due to contract ending) Morgan: £8m
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Was Henderson £16m? I know he's English, but is he really worth double our Morgan?
London Saint Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 I will be surprised if Chelsea or Arsenal don't bid for Morgan. He is the sort of top class defensive midfielder that could improve both those teams.
labibs Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Who would pay anything more than £1m for Punch, when you can have him for free in the summer? I would have him at £2.5-3m max anyway. Morgan would be expensive. If Jordan Henderson goes for £20m, I would say well over £10m, maybe higher. SRL is difficult, due to his age. I would expect around £6m could tempt a club to sell? It would depend on whether the player was agitating for the move I guess. Jack Cork would be a lot more than we paid for him as well.
norwaysaint Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Taking the question as it was asked, not about the value generally of our players, but what we would expect to pay for them if they played for, say Norwich or Sunderland, and they had performed exactly as they have now (Lambert 10 goals, Schneiderlin ever present, etc) I'd say Lambert: £5m, We'd be buying somebody to score goals this and hopefully next season, that they probably didn't want to sell and we'd be lucky to get much for in two years. 4m if they were happier to sell him. Realistically, what would we expect to pay for Holt, as he was last season, if we lost Ricky? I don't mean Holt's as good as RL, but I think that's the sort of player we're talking about. Schneiderlin: £10m sounds about right, no other team would want to sell their most influential midfielder and it's a valuable position. He might be slightly lower because he hasn't had a whole PL season and isn't an international. Puncheon: Fast winger with a bit of creativity, although sometimes lacks the end product he will score a few. Would lose a bit of value due to history of bad attitude. I'd say about £5-6m, but you never know, many would've been happy to release him last summer.
pingwing Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Schneiderlin has to be well over £10m, partly as he comes up as homegrown (thank's to us buying him in at the age of 18 ) so to the premier league teams squad registration he is gold! If Henderson got £20m mostly for being homegrown (and apparently good) it should set some sort of president that good homegrown (and young) talent should be at least 50% more, so £30m I value him at. Lambert £6m, can't pay more for him because of his age and lacking that turn in pace that most strikers "need" in the prem.... Punch 50p. Well £3m really, too inconsistent to be a big transfer. Cork should have been valued at £8-9m when he left Chelsea (not £650k) and now should be another £30m like Schneiderlin really. (and should be in the England squad like Morg should be in the France squad)
RobM Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 The question wasn't how much we would sell for, but how much we would buy them for if they were not a Saints player, so Punch's contract situation isn't relevant. IMO, Rickie is £4m, Punch £6m and Mogan £10m.
Ken Tone Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Nowadays , all fees for players are hugely affected by a) how much time is left onther current contract, and b) how much they currently earn So really the fees for these, or any other player, could vary by several £million depending on a) and b)
rshephard3 Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Morgan is the one worth proper cash. £12mill now IMHO. Handles himself against everyone. Bossed things at Stamford Bridge the other day.
mynameisthehulk Posted 24 January, 2013 Share Posted 24 January, 2013 Some of you are nuts. Nobody would pay more than £2m for a journeyman striker who is over 30 for a start. Punch is worth nothing because he is out of contract, if that situation were to change he would be worth over £6m based on his form in the EPL. Morgan is priceless to be fair, if anyone wanted to buy him it would be crazy money, he is that good.

In the summer that'll be just the season so the situation might need urgent attention then. Got a feeling he might have ambitions for Rio so if he doesn't think he's in the selector's eye by the summer then he may want to move on.
