Exclusive Dan Seaborne interview, please read!

The predictable "what a great guy the chairman is" a few days after he's being slagged off.

Not at all predictable. Just disapointing for anyone who wants to support the former manager over and above the football club. If Seaborne did not want to say what he did, he needn't have done so, or even agreed to an interview at all.

I think you need to accept that some of the players actually think this....

didnt you say that he treats the players very very well.....?

I've said before that he is popular with the players and they are treated very well by him, unless of course they act up and be helmets. I've praised cortese for it actually Jamie. as i said, praise where it's due, criticise where it's due.

Just coincidence that a player comes out for no reason and says what a great guy he is when he's getting a bit of stick. It's so predictable.

Its hardly no reason though is it? He's being interviewed by a uni student. Don't you think he might have been asked about it? Its not like he stood up in the middle of MacDonalds and started shouting it is it?

What do you expect him to say? He's under contract with SFC!!! Do you honestly think he'd say the chairman is a c8nt and i cant stand him?!!!

It is entirely possible to speak about somebody you don't like without calling them things like that, or being negative in any way, so I see no reason why Seaborne would blatantly lie if he doesn't like Cortese. He could have swerved the question, gave a bland answer or simply not answered at all.

Perhaps he does like him and that's his honest opinion. His comments about how Cortese treated him while he was in hospital are very clear, so why do you need to think he is making that up and answering because of his contract with SFC?

I'm sure in your life you've had to answer questions about somebody you don't like without being negative. We all have.

As i said above, i dont doubt that Seaborne does like him, the players are, by all accounts, treated very well by the chairman, the back office staff, well, not so much. But what did people expect him to say?

I would expect him not to say anything negative about the Chairman, that's obvious. My point was that it's not for "no reason", there was a reason, he was being interviewed. He was being interviewed by a Uni student, not the Official website or for the matchday program.

Most of his comments are reasonably neutral - good businessman, tough, made some good decisions etc. The only time he really praises him is when he talks about his injury when he had personal dealings with him. This isn't some massive PR machine that's at work here.

I expected nothing as the first time I knew he was being interviewed was this thread. The article doesn't print the question asked that led to that answer either, so it's impossible to form an expectation.

In general terms, I don't expect players to say negative things about NC, Punch is the perfect example of what not to do. But I equally don't expect them to lie, as if they don't like him it's still perfectly possible to answer the question politely and professionally without signing his praises about being a very, very good man.

Bloke responsible for giving someone millions of pounds not slagged off by said person unshocker.

Must be a genuine verbatim quote though, why else would you leave in an horrendous grammatical error like "I haven’t actually spoke to him myself" in otherwise, apart from Seaborne being unable to conjugate the verb "to speak" in the past tense, which is fairly typical for a thicko footballer ?
