Man Utd Away Build Up

Hmm, that'll be a 6-2 gubbing then.

I have a feeling it'll be Schteeeve starting.

We started the season far far too open, and I'm worried that Adkins was maybe sacked because he went against Cortese's principles of attacking football. He's brought this new fella in and going to go back to being ridiculously open again. Cortese did mention in his interview that Pochettino matches Cortese's way...

we started the season with an inadequate team, the style of football has very little to do with our results in those matches.

Fox,Davis,Davis,Jos in the starting line up is what did for us. Plus of course some very strange substitutions.

That is a very good point and something I had not considered.

It's a pretty fvvcking disturbing article when you read the bit bout having to expect 10 games or so of crap results while team gets used to high pressing game.

Buying a slow defender in the window, probably wasn't the best idea either. Did the committee know about the high pressing game before they signed him or did they read this and go "Oh Sh!t, best pull out of the Carnavaro deal as well".

what are you saying...? are we going down in your opinion...? get off the fence ffs

Cortese made me look a right mug! Week before he sacked atkins i promised the forum we was definitely staying up and i even agreed to pay out all bets via paddy power.

I reckon the shock will be forren starting.

My team would be....

Boruc

Clyne

Forren

Yoshida

Shaw

Cork

Morgan

Davis

Ramirez

Puncheon

Lambert

Davis

Fox

Hooiveld

Lallana

JWP

Chaplow

Rodriguez

is this with ramirez on the left? coz he's been lost there for us every time he's played there, first half of monday night he was exceptional in the free role in the middle. play him there again i say, if u want the CMs then I'd play jay and SRL with him in the hole. both of them drift wide and give us width, and with gaston, davis and cork coming through the middle to support.

if you want wingers, and to get the best out of gaston you've got to drop Davis and play 2 CMs, would be a no brainer if lallana was fit but will be interesting to see how we shape up. hopefully we will see something different, if lallana is able to play the last 45-30 minutes would be nice to give shaw a go at LW, and who knows, fox could be a new player under MP :)

Why would we drop our best player in Morgan ?!

I don't think that there's any prospect of Gaston playing anywhere bar the 10 position under MP. If fit, he'll play there in every game. I reckin Adkins benching of Gaston, and his playing him "out of position", were the beginning of the end for him.

It's the wide area where any shock will come. MP likes to blood youth and Cortese expects that. Our squad (bench in particular) will evolve throughout the season imo. Chambers, Reeves, Stephens, JWP and perhaps someone from leftfield will come to the fore.

Not got a great feeling about tonight. In the corporates (Man U Exec Club) with 2 of my nippers & dad. Lads keep asking me when they can sing Saints songs!!!

Reading the article mentioned above suggests to me that we will see more of Chaplow. He presses pretty much non-stop. Not great with the ball though. Negative view - thin we might get beat 4-1 (sorry).........................

I always assume the worst when playing against the big clubs. My new tactic is to avoid all coverage until last 5 minutes, then see the damage. It means I don't p off the wife/wake the baby/annoy the neighbours with loud swearing.

Probably a regulation 3-0 defeat, hopefully with no injuries - rest up Ricky for the main event on Saturday.

don't forget seager too, 15 in 15 for the U18s

what's happened to Sinclair though? he was the always the other player mentioned with shaw and JWP from that youth squad

I agree with you. Against Everton, for me the evidence was there with Yoshida getting caught out more than 3 times by Anichebe after he came on and was playing just inside the channel, when Clyne was out of position. This seemed a very weak area for me, so i suspect we'll get caught out by that tonight if we are as open as the second half against Everton. If we are going to push the wide boys further forward more often, they really need to make sure they don't give away possession cheaply. Will be interesting tonight but i think an early goal for manure will set the tone and we'll go down fighting 3-1!

If Nigel was in charge for this game I would have predicted a draw or a close defeat. With MP I dont know what to expect from the team, and what's this shocking line up all about? Is this source often right about the team?

Gutted I wont be able to see the first half tonight due to work.

COYR! We can beat this s..t

Sinclair is playing for the under 21's, like Stephens, Chambers and Reeves are.

thanks :)

it's your ratings i'm referring to on FM12 actually, you put him up there with shaw & JWP as the three gems in the youth team and he's dropped off a little compared with the other two, all three were valued around £1m. he's played 12 games and only scored twice this season, is he playing in another position these days, or is he just not got the potential you claimed he has?

He doesn't make mistakes, must be the other option.

Sinclair is playing out wide for the under 21's, he played centrally upfront for the under 18's.

Shaw and JWP have the higher potential in FM13.
