Much has been made of MP and his inability to speak English. Watching him being interviewed you could see he understood most what had been asked. It was amusing as he went on long answers and left the interpreter scribbling away. he is not a man of few words lol

When Morgan was taking a throw last night, Tino* grabbed him and said a few things to him, Morgan nodded, took the throw and ran over to tell Lambert something. So either Morgan can speak Spanish or Tino can speak French.

(*Im trying this out, I like it)

Yeah the other day when Solent first interviewed him he understood their questions are just his answer was translated. There is also a video of him with Guileme Balague speaking a little more English - he will get there.

Also, the content of what he says seems very intelligent and thoughtful. Personally, I think he has handled what is a difficult situation with dignity.

He speaks Spanish, Frencha and Italian + undrstands English - so think he will pick it up quite quickly - considering Spides and Gaston are likely to be key parts - at least they will get the details - dont think it will be an issue... the media and football world like to over play this as its part of the whole 'foreigners' thing....

....Neville made me laugh last night, he was very good and is easily the best analyst/pundit I have seen in long while , but when he was going on about opportunities for ENGLISH managers and pointing out its sad that here is another foreign manager - he seemed to forget that there are a good few SCOTTISH managers in teh league including the biggest name - love the idiocy of the pundit wingers who go on about the foreign imports - all that crap we had a few years ago about how it restricted opportunities for English players and thus the impact on the ENGLAND team - yet prior to the top sides were full of SCOTS, WELSH and IRISH, which they always seem to forget to mention....

Mauricio Pochettino played in France for 3 years for PSG and Bordeaux, so probably was talking to Schneiderlin in French. He also speaks Italian and his English isn't as bad as is being made out by some in the press.

I think it's a case of not being that confident in English at the moment and not wanted to get his words mis-interpreted by reporters

he didn't seem to have a problem giving out instructions to Rickie Lambert on the pitch, unless of course Rickie speaks Spanish.

Nah, what he said was 'theh theh theh theh theh theh theh', and Ricky replied 'Scorchio'

This seems to be the case. The media seems to be massively overplaying the language thing. Radio 4 had Laurie Mac on the Today programme this morning, and that was pretty much their first question to him as well. At that first press conference he seemed to not need a translator for the questions in English, just felt more comfortable delivering his anwers that way.

And I don't blame him. He's come into a pretty bad situation so the press would probably look to turn anything he says!

I don't think he has to much of a problem myself. He is using it to his advantage to keep the press at arms length for the time being. Letting the dust settle & the furore die down. He didn't seem to have any problem communicating with SRL last night on the pitch.

Like.

Ok, so we have Tino, Mo-Po, Pinocchio, Pistachio, MP. Any others?

Give we have The Don, and someone on here came up with Jimmy Sixstacks yesterday, I think we should go for Mafia sounding names (is there an Argentinian equivalent of the Mafia?)

Tino for me. Perhaps El Tino.

The new keeper coach was obviously trying to impress before the match during the warm up. You could tell he was rusty to say the least, shots flying everywhere apart from the target !! He struggled to get his point across as the language barrier was causing problems. Davis kept turning round to the crowd as if to say wtf is he talking about. 20 minutes before the start of a premiership match and he was carrying out a training session and not a warm up !! Christ, these keepers dont need to be more confused than normal...saying that Boruc did have a good game !! Football eh..

Davis acting the clown and trying to destabilise the new team....yep sounds like something one of Adkins mates might do.

Fortunately Boruc is our number 1 now and KD will soon be evinced from the bench in favour of Gazza.

exactly how i see it

you only have to remember the over reaction of the press when capello mis-pronounced 'honoured' in his first england press conference to see what they are like if a person isnt perfectly fluent in english the second they step on these shores

even more so when the media are looking for any negative angle they can get out this story

you need to get over your dislike of KD. He is now Boruc understudy, im sure he is professional enough to accept it. You should give him some respect as he is one of the reasons we went up 2 divisions. he could have gone and feathered his nest at WHU but decided to stay here, apparently after a call from NC asking him to stay on.

I thought precisely the same thing, especially as it was minutes after an interview with...David Moyes

he's also our club captain. Talk of trying to destabilise the team is absolute bullsh*t. He'll be working his hardest to prove to the manager he's good enough to be back in that team, why would he want to upset the manager. Ridiculous suggestion. Completely agree that he deserves a lot more respect than WC gives him.
