Sorry if its a repeat, but heArd last night that Newcastle had put a bid in for Lambert.

No idea what our reponse was (if its true of course) but imagine based on last nights performance (that missed header excluded) then the new guy won't want to let him go.

Pardew connection, Ba replacement??

If the club sell him. Then they are idiots

Easily play at this level for another 2 season after this

And have they done anything is the last couple of days to prove they are not Idiots..... I wouldnt be surpriused IF we sell Lambert and get some Spaniard in instead......

I think you need to be more pragmatic, TTD. That's what I've learnt from you over the last couple of days.

If he goes, who cares? Not me. Just like Dean Hammond all over again.

And we all know how rubbish spaniards are. It's not as if they've won the last three major international tournaments is it :)

Not that it's going to happen anyway.

Lambert was wasteful at times but had a really good game on the whole -and the new manager spoke about being impressed by our ability to create chances.

At the end of the day, football managers have less influence over a team than star players -one reason they're also paid less. Getting rid of Adkins is one thing; getting rid of Lambert -at least at this point in the season- is quite another.

That's the pertinent point right there. We don't have another striker on the books who is even half the threat that Lambert offers us; it would be lunacy to get rid of him now. It would even be lunacy to get rid of him if we bought another star striker.

What the club have to consider is, if we stay up, how effective is Lambert going to be as a first choice striker for a team who are looking to push on for a top ten finish (I imagine if we stay up this season that next season's expectations will significantly rise). RL showed last night that he's a real threat as a striker, but also somewhat limited in certain areas (pace and running the channels). If we do sign another striker I'd very much hope RL would stay to play alongside/as backup to him; though I'd suggest that if he carries on his goalscoring form he'll be loathe to play second fiddle to anyone.

I won't be happy. Like I won't be happy about Adkins.

I'm sure I will get on with my life mind

I know. It was tragic all those people jumping off the Itchen Bridge over Adkins. What a waste of life.

Well done you for staying so strong. An example to us all.

Then I fear it is you that is the idiot. As you say they (if you mean by they the management of the club) have indeed done everything they could to show they are not idiots. Getting Ricky - the natural leader - onside was just one of these moves and it certainly paid off in both his performance and in the attitudes of the others.

Heard that Lambert was one of a few players unhappy under Adkins and had been keen on a move. How true that is I don't know could be ******** but it's feasible it could have forced corteses hand?

I reckon that's hogwash - Rickie was the only person to show any remorse for the situation when interviewed

Llorente is on a free this summer! Can't see Ricky going this month, but anything can happen in the summer......

1. Lambert was made captain last night, so most likely in our long term plans

2. Would NC really sell to a club that is a rival and is manage by AP?

3. He aint French, Newcastle only buy French it seems.

yep, it's stay here and learn spanish or go to neuveauchateau and learn french!
