CB Fry Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 I would have chosen a less negative word than 'apathy', such as 'pragmatism', but I guess that doesn't sell as many papers... Just imagine the number of copies they've sold on the back of a Southampton match report. Must run into the hundred thousands.
dubai_phil Posted 22 January, 2013 Author Posted 22 January, 2013 Just imagine the number of copies they've sold on the back of a Southampton match report. Must run into the hundred thousands. Well as they earn money from click throughs' these days probably a few hundred tenths of a cent than usual in th central south of UK Mind you he could have used a spell checker for the headline
Ohio Saint Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 What is a spillchocker? I woulda gone with confused rather than apathy. )
trousers Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Just imagine the number of copies they've sold on the back of a Southampton match report. Must run into the hundred thousands. Makes you wonder why they bother trying to write eye grabbing controversial headlines. Might as well get a buffoon to write them instead.
Ohio Saint Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Makes you wonder why they bother trying to write eye grabbing controversial headlines. Might as well get a buffoon to write them instead. Oh go on, just say Neil Allen
NickG Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 According to radio Solent this morning, they asked fans their view before the game, now they have had time to calm down. Solent said every single fan, repeated and emphasised, every one, said that sacking NA and appointing MP was a good idea. Morgan made a telling comment about improvements with MP in one of interviews. Big NA fan so will need more convincing but was impressed with more changes than expected last night.
CB Fry Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Makes you wonder why they bother trying to write eye grabbing controversial headlines. Might as well get a buffoon to write them instead. Ohh, I know. I mean look at that headline. So eye-grabbing. So controversial. What the Daily Telegraph is famous for of course. I don't know how they sleep at night.
Turkish Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 well at least the picture proves not all the fans protesting were complete mongs.
Gruffalo Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 'Apathy' had been changed to 'reality' on the image of the Telegraph article they showed on SSN this morning..
Saint in Paradise Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 well at least the picture proves not all the fans protesting were complete mongs. I wonder if you were in that picture then???
CB Fry Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 And we can have no doubt the writer of that article has a clear agenda re Saints. Fact. Hunt him down.
Turkish Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 I wonder if you were in that picture then??? that's me holding the Nigel Adkins face.
simo Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 The sun basically slags us off for not protesting
OldNick Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Well i dont thin it is correct that Moyes was overlooked for Gray. i was under the impression that Moyes wouldnt take the job as he wanted his own backroom staff without Gray. The atmosphere did seem flat, but i think most fans understood that it would play into Evertons hands if if became restless. NA and football fans in general know the fans adored him, and im sure that is some comfort
shurlock Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 http://m.guardiannews.com/football/blog/2013/jan/21/southampton-nigel-adkins-supporters "On this front the night had started in darkly ham-fisted fashion for the hierarchy's attempts to massage public opinion, with a match programme that contained almost no trace of Adkins (all that remained was a 2mm high Adkins, who could be spotted un-airbrushed at the edge of picture on page 21. Heads will roll)".
Marsdinho Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 well at least the picture proves not all the fans protesting were complete mongs. I didn't realise that 1 Direction were fans

trousers Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 The sun basically slags us off for not protesting My Spurs supporting work colleague is doing the same. I pointed out that we done them a favour last night and he said he'd rather Everton had stuffed us for the way we treated Adkins.
Guan 2.0 Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 well at least the picture proves not all the fans protesting were complete mongs. The kid on the right looks like a young version of 'Badger' from breaking bad.
shurlock Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 that's me holding the Nigel Adkins face. I prefer the pic of this charming man
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 (edited) The media want the fans to revolt and the club to implode as this makes more interesting copy. The fans did the right thing last night by keeping a lid on it. Chelsea fans have been totally self-indulgent, given how close we are to the relegation zone we can't afford such naval gazing or indeed navel gazing . I think you may be confusing us with portsmouth
Wes Tender Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 The media want the fans to revolt and the club to implode as this makes more interesting copy. The fans did the right thing last night by keeping a lid on it. Chelsea fans have been totally self-indulgent, given how close we are to the relegation zone we can't afford such naval gazing. Naval gazing is probably more prevalent in Southsea, (hello sailor) but here we can only gaze at our navels.

I pointed out that we done them a favour last night and he said he'd rather Everton had stuffed us for the way we treated Adkins.Just ask him if he would get rid of AVP for NA, its ok preaching about getting rid of him, but would they want him?
