Barry Sanchez Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 And here we have another guy who shows off his football knowledge. No another guy giving his opinion? Are you a goalkeeper? Or play football even at an average standard?
Olallana Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 The question is why oh why didn't we sign him in July? We sgned him in september, that didn´t mean that we played him......unfortunately.
cambsaint Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 The Sky summariser said when he played for Celtic he was one of the best one on one. He's certainly not going to be pushed around though.
ottery st mary Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 You could even see it in his early games.. Clearly a top GK.. Needed games but generally first class with a few rough edges.. Training and match play solving the problem with those in front of him as well. The combination of him and his back four as a unit improving together gives us a solid platform..... Thank God those early days have gone ..JITTERS from the wobbly defence slowly disappearing.. Boruc was always good but now getting back to star quality again.. Well done Artur Boruc.... Top man:D

A brilliant one? You credit Everton far too much and also Boruc.

krissyboy31 Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 He definitely wasn't fit enough when he came and several pounds overweight. He certainly looks like that has been rectified now.
Graffito Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 We didn't give him a run out because he wasn't fit and his head went west. Seems to have got his bearings now. Some good performances lately and is beginning to inspire confidence. well played tonight.
Miltonroader07 Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 Starting to make some people (including me) eat their words. Really good display again, the Anichebe save was brilliant. Barry Sanchez Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 He had a good game and if you think anything else, you simply don't know enough about football or you must have missed parts of the game. Where have I said he did not? People are thinking that performance was Banksesque because they want to be proved right thats all, people only see what they want to see, so we played a good game and deserved to win and yet our keeper was the motm? Under Weststand Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 Have to hold up my hands & admit to thinking he was another disaster, just shouldn't have played him until he was fit. Now he is & getting game time looking a lot fitter & he is looking a decent keeper, that some said he was. No problem admitting that.
SaintBobby Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Superb tonight. Got my MOTM vote. Not just the saves, command of the area. Although we got the call for the foul, he punched the ball out c. 30 yards one-handed from a corner in 2nd half under pressure. Impressed.

niemi14 Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Fantastic to see him beginning to show his true class. Superb performance last night and the Villa game. Ohio Saint Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Normally, I would have said that he's coming good, but have doubts about him being a 'Saint' Now though, I don't know what to expect from a Saint. If I am to go purely on results, then he should be our No. 1 keeper.
RobM Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Definitely our No.1 and definitely getting better and better with every game. Last nights performance was superb, very hard to fault and save the point for us on a number of occasions.
OldNick Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 I have felt that KD has been a good keeper for us, last night i believe that Boruc showed we now have somebody who can now go on and cement his place in our hearts and team. KD is now to my mind our No.2 keeper. Well done Boruc
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Said he should be our no 1 the moment he signed. . Had a shaky start but I can't believe anybody still thinks Davis or gazza are a better option?
Shroppie Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Happy with him now that he's got his fitness sorted. I admit I was amongst those putting him down the pecking order, but that was mainly because he seemed too casual and over-confident, didn't look fit and I wasn't sure his head was right. But now after a few good games the confidence is being backed up with technique and a very solid look, and I'm happy to change my mind.
Thedelldays Posted 22 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 22 January, 2013 That is the point. He should have got these games under hit belt when he first came in. Between Davis and gazza, many points/goals were literally gifted to the opposition when a keeper with far superior ability was not getting a look in
Window Cleaner Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 When he got in the team He pulled off some great saves and felt like a commanding keeper As I keep telling you this is the situation that caused Adkins not to be with us today. Wanted nothing to do with Boruc. Was probably made to play him and used a feeble incident to evince him.
Cabrone Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 I never doubted the Pole in the goal and was amazed he didn't get the jersey from the time he arrived. GK was my no 1 priority from the moment we got promoted and I'm just relieved we have it finally sorted. Boruc is transforming our defence, he's a class act who has already earnt us points and from what I've seen may even reach Niemi'esque levels. The club should try and get another 2 years on his contract if they can.
tajjuk Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 I thought he played ok but did nothing amazing, he did not have much to do and thats down to either our defence or Everton's lack of guile/effort at breaking us down. I see you can't man up and admit that you were very wrong about him. Boruc is a fat clown who is an error prone joker, to me this sums up the tanned ones knowledge of the game, for ***** sake he was a keeper as well, surely he could see Boruc's is a mistake waiting to happen, if he was that good why have clubs let him go? Why was he not snapped up by a top top European club? Because he is gash. I think you will find he would of lost his place and he would of only been a back up, Viviano is his name. Your knowledge of this clown is worrying as like most sheep you seem to know **** all about football, ask yourself as well how much was he on there and how much is he on here? Why has one bought him if he is that good? You see you could go with that theory if you know nothing about football, you obviously know nothing about Viviano do you? He is the next big thing over there and has been for sometime, not some fat joker who cant keep goal without getting ****ed, go on check it out before spurting. He showed last night and in previous games that he is the top class goalkeeper that many of us said he would be given some time. He made one world class save and one very good save and did everything else that was asked of him calmy and confidently. I'm not sure what more you expect of a keeper. it was interesting to watch Gary Neville talke about De Gea against Spurs and how his poor punch at the end undid his earlier good saves and how that a top class keeper needs to do everything right. Ours seemed to do that last night. Needs a contract extension.
david in sweden Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 For someone who's had two new managers in less than 6 months, I think he's beginning to settle well. Look forward to seeing him perform against United and City.....if he continues to play well against them, I'd say he's a great buy (except he was free, of course). pingwing Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 He needs to work on his kicking, badly! Other than that clear no.1, goes for everything and gets more than enough behind his saves. david in sweden Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 When he got in the team. He pulled off some great saves and felt like a commanding keeper You see...... I can agree with you delldays. I really expected to see him in the line-up from the first day. OK maybe he wasn't totally fit, and needed some fitness training, but we waited a long time before he got into the side. The West Ham and Tottenham games were very poor defensively and it 's hard to blame him for all those goals. Then we reverted to Gazzaniga.who may become " one for the future " but (IMHO is no better than KD)...and his mistakes cost us at least 4 points in games that we were winning at the time. I hate to " speak ill ..of the departed " but several articles wrote that NA refused to buy in an experienced goalie pre-season... despite Cortese's wishes..and that started the rift between them. Now that we have Boruc, I hope he proves his worth. Some people say he's a bit "weird " but for goodness sake, we had two seasons of Bruce Grobbelaar...that was weird enough. Saint_Mabes Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 His kicking is still poor/avergage, but thank god it's improved since he first came where he could barely get the ball over the half way line!
