Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 When he got in the team He pulled off some great saves and felt like a commanding keeper
The Kraken Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Starting to make some people (including me) eat their words. Really good display again, the Anichebe save was brilliant.
Zlavik Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I love that you have to eat your words. I was called many things for sticking with Boruc. But hey, noone can be right all the time
ottery st mary Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Great GK and one of the best... Just needed games to prove his worth at this level. COYS
smithy Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Very good performance today, looked very solid.
Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2013 Author Posted 21 January, 2013 Makes the whole gazzaniga thing look ridiculous
Zlavik Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I just cant wait. MLT will owe me 5 pounds soon!
Miltonaggro Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Important player for us now, big character, which is great to have at the back...
Saintjersey Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He really is a different class. Just wish he had been in goal for Norwich and Swansea, we would have got another 4 points.
The Kraken Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I love that you have to eat your words. I was called many things for sticking with Boruc. But hey, noone can be right all the time In my defence, I had him as first choice of our current 3 keepers; I just genuinely didn't see him as a long term option and thought we really needed to bring someone in. Long way to go yet, but he's looking like a different player to his earlier games. Hats off to the loony.

Matthew Le Tissier Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Yep. Agree I'm his biggest critic, he was solid tonight . I will also add I often slate gully, he played well until he run out of steam. Well done both
pangy Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He has so much presence about him he is head and shoulders above the other two, kept us in it tonight
DT Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He was excellent all round. Throwing was also superb
austsaint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Makes the whole gazzaniga thing look ridiculous Makes the whole Gazza/Kelvin thing look ridiculous you mean.
View From The Top Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 2 clean sheets in our last 3 games. The loon is looking the part.
The Pole Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Hi there! Polish fan here. I've decided to join the message board after reading the previous discussion about Boruc (whatever happened to it?). I don't know how much Southampton fans know about Boruc but he is not where he is accidentally. To say that Gazzaniga or even Davis are better or equal to him is a complete misunderstanding. Gazza may one day be better but there's a long way to go as of yet. Boruc was fantastic for Celtic (apart from a short period when he was out of form, due to personal issues) and then went to Fiorentina where he won competition with one Sebastien Frey, who was one of the top keepers in Serie A. It always started slowly for Boruc, he had to fight for his place also with Marshall at Celtic, but once he got the shirt he never surrendered it. He has achieved a lot in his career and unless he's lost it (which of course may have happened but it doesn't seem so, so far), then you've got a top class keeper on your books. Also good luck for the rest of the season. You're good enough to stay up and at least you try to play football unlike the team that I support in England (Wolves).
Alain Perrin Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Player in proving knee-jerk forumentalists wrong shocker.....
St Chalet Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Yep. Agree I'm his biggest critic, he was solid tonight . I will also add I often slate gully, he played well until he run out of steam. Well done both Fair play.
Olallana Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I really laughed in the first minute when Naismith jumped into him in a challenge. Boruc looked at him and wondered what he was doing....
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I hope he keeps it up I really do. H was class tonight. The save he made at his near post was quality. He made it look easier than what it was. Chicken tikka humble pie for me tonight

In fairness, I don't recall too many people saying that. Simply that, while Boruc was the best available keeper we had, he had previously done little for us to suggest that he would be a consistent top performer and that it would be a good idea for us to go out and buy a new keeper. SFC's persistence with Gazzaniga and Davis was ludicrous, really.
jawillwill Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 When he got in the team He pulled off some great saves and felt like a commanding keeper Because bell ends like you were getting on his back after one slightly below par performance?
Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2013 Author Posted 21 January, 2013 Because bell ends like you were getting on his back after one slightly below par performance? Not me

Same with Davis, he was better because Boruc had lost his skills.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Because he was p*ss poor and made 2/3 schoolboy mistakes early on in has last few appearances? He did well today, mind, but one swallow......
Smirking_Saint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Brilliant performance, his kicking is at times wayward but his throwing is immense He is big, commanding, strong and good reflexes Im happy

dubai_phil Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Blame the morons in the front centre few rows of the Chapel for giving him abuse at the Spuds game we could have had an extra couple of points at least
Saintjersey Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Because he was p*ss poor and made 2/3 schoolboy mistakes early on in has last few appearances? He did well today, mind, but one swallow...... What are you on? He made barely errors compared to Gazza or Davis who have just been completely awful.
Colinjb Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Assured, strong and commanding. Southampton's number one.
sfc1976 Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Fags and booze = great keeper! Just needs to work on his kicking, maybe throw hookers into the mix and we'll have a world class one on our hands!
Ed Rooney Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 When he got in the team He pulled off some great saves and felt like a commanding keeper With you on this TDD, have said from day he signed he should be our Number 1, the most talented keeper we have at the club at present.
S-Clarke Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He was painted into this horrific GK on here, when in reality he did nothing wrong. He upset a few fans in the Chapel and all hell broke lose, and all of a sudden he's the worst GK in history. The fact was, and still is, that he's our best GK by a mile and given a run in the team, he was always going to demonstrate his qualities.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Not sure if I'm overrating it, but I thought the save from Anichebe was sensational.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 If they change the rules so that you're allowed to throw goal kicks he'll be the complete package.
doggface Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He was playing **** and not fit. Credit to him he has started to turn it round and looked very assured tonight other than a couple of poor kicks. Great shot stopping and throws.
Zlavik Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Because saints fans are idiots. Yes idiots. Alot of fans judge when they really know NOTHING about football. Not all of them, but some. Like the people who boo'd him! I'm furious with these fans and I hope Boruc will stay with ut, because he might leave because of the treatment he's recieved.
Zlavik Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He was playing **** and not fit. Credit to him he has started to turn it round and looked very assured tonight other than a couple of poor kicks. Great shot stopping and throws. ^ this quote makes my point. He didn't play like ****, he played decent. He was also almost fit. ASDSLKEDFJKRLFJ
Dig Dig Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Starting to make some people (including me) eat their words. Really good display again, the Anichebe save was brilliant. Same, had my doubts but looks mire solid with every game
melmacian_saint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 The question is why oh why didn't we sign him in July?
Barry Sanchez Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I thought he played ok but did nothing amazing, he did not have much to do and thats down to either our defence or Everton's lack of guile/effort at breaking us down.
Zlavik Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I thought he played ok but did nothing amazing, he did not have much to do and thats down to either our defence or Everton's lack of guile/effort at breaking us down. And here we have another guy who shows off his football knowledge.
egg Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He impressed me bigtime tonight. Big, strong, confident, safe hands and saves. Top class.
