I have heard that pardew is still sniffing. Wouldn't dismiss it as I'm sure Adkins dismissal has upset a few of the players as well. Hence taking them away to barca for some team building.

 

I personal au would say him asking for a transfer is not right, lets face it he was getting dropped and subbed under Nigel so why ask now. News his chance to become the first name on the team sheet as out new skipper.

Agree though in this case it would provide an insight into the new manager's thinking, who he rates and the attributes he's looking for. The two-bit translator is creating more confusion than clarity.
