St.Patrik Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 In Sweden that never would have happened (I know we are a weak country) unless the banner says something illegal or racist stuff. Saying thanks to a former manager is neither - but again that's Sweden ....

S-Clarke Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 This was always going to happen. They were hyping up this "cauldron of hate" and "big protests" There were just none... None that could be heard anyway Saw a fair few Adkins banners and of course, heard the Adkins songs Even now, on talksport, an Everton fan on the way home is saying he was expecting some sort of protest as it was billed in the media and in our local sites... He said it just wasn't there and it was infact, a very good game of football with no distractions
musesaint Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 The reality was ... the fans supported the players, the club and the new manager and didn't behave like a bunch of bed wetting hanky wavers or Chelski saddos In short, the Saints fans were again a massive credit to themselves and the club. Great result. Great effort from the players. Puncheon a legend.
SaintBobby Posted 22 January, 2013 Share Posted 22 January, 2013 Stewards can be very heavy handed. I think Saints staff particularly so. We should complain when they are. I haven't agreed with too many of your posts but I agree with this one. It is pathetic for Cortese to offer no meaningful appreciation of Nigel's efforts in the media release nor even a fleeting acknowledgement in the programme, but it is something else entirely to deny the fans their right to express their appreciation. I could understand critical stuff being confiscated (understand but not necessarily agree with it) but I can't understand how someone could be so insecure as to issue orders like that. If he wants to come across as a bigger man, perhaps he should start acting like one.

Very bad in the context of bad things that can happen inside a football ground these days Jamie, we live in a country which believes in freedom of speech. You should know you cook for those that go to battle to defend that right. That doesn't exist inside SMS. He is a dictator of sorts. In fact there are quite a few similarities with North Korea, no freedom of speech, constant propganda spun out by the official sources and brainwashed people singing the name of their leader.
